This happened on the Eastern Front, too; when they pulled back from Krakow, Austrian troops remember the Russians leaving them three Christmas trees with a message saying “Merry Christmas” and praying that the war would end soon…

Every time I think about this or read about it, it touches me in a way no other story or event ever has, the feeling it gives me has no words. It is nuts to think in one of the largest wars in human history, a common idea of a holy holiday can bring enemies close, and silence the ever thundering weapons of war.

107 years rather during the beginning of the first world war, German, British and French soldiers celebrated Christmas together instead of fighting and they were right. Could it happen again to see soldiers celebrating Christmas together instead of fighting? Merry Christmas everyone!

Well most enemies don’t celebrate the same holidays. All kind of a waste since they went back to killing each other later. As a war veteran I would just prefer to killing my enemy till it is time to go home than than a temporary truce. Just saying. Nothing personal, just war. I am sure under different circumstances I could have been friends with my enemies since but life isn’t always sunshine, unicorns and rainbows.

When I make smth about WW2 I also buy smth cheap from China but chineese guys they dont make any minifigures for WW1 so there is no other option - only expensive figs from those companies.

for more realisticness: back then the british werent wearing the brodie helmets yet they were just using hats for their uniforms but in a matter this was the peaceful event yet merry christmas and happy new years edit: the british were'nt wearing the brodie helmet until 1916
