Is there a way to date these flashlights? I have read that TL 122As were pre-war (1930s), but some say its early war (1940-43), TL 122Bs are said to have came out in late 43. I have only found 1 site that talks about the dates of each TL-122, I just want to confirm if the details are true. What I know is that the TL122 came from a pre-war civilian flashlight model then adapted by the military. Also, are all TL-122As made out of brass or the metal varies from each manufacturer? I saw a picture of a TL-122A with rust, I think brass does not rust, so I was wondering about the type of metal used.

@georgebenta3435 yes it was a pretty warm design but wartime models have the tl 122a on head of torch . All a models were brass base with alloy head. The corrosion could have came if recovered from the sea.

@@RockinRAY I found out that they also made steel bodied versions. The brass bodied are earlier TL122A versions.

Hello. I have a TL-122-A with a coin edge plastic bezel. It’s a USALite and looks like your upper left model in the video. Do you think it may have been replaced? Thanks

Is it true that the Tl-122Bs are made of smelly plastic?
