1) Place pieces of sushi close to the tank vents to tempt the crew out. 2) Shoot the crew when they go for the sushi trap.

The Ha-Go was actually a nifty little tank, it emerged ready for the war with China when the Chinese only had a few panzers (4’s?) and old renaults (which is what they got based off of initially) ideal for an infantry support light tank especially in urban combat. There is a button on the back, made to look like a rivet, that the infantry could push and it set an alarm in the turret telling the commander he needed to listen to the infantry’s instruction. Sadly not up to much later on in the war - but they were pretty formidable despite the size. You could also jam a knife or bayonet between the turret and chassis and it stops the turret from turning. The rear machine gun was at the 5 o’clock so once the turret turns, a corner is exposed. Stick a knife between and it’s stuck fast.

Excuse me, but the sole Japanese tank portrayed seems to be a light tank. There were other Japanese models, especially medium tanks, which would require different tactics in order to disable or defeat them. One such model was the type 98 ShinHo To Chi-Ha, which required a crew of 5; though inferior to contemporary American and Soviet tanks, according to my research it at least had a fighting chance, especially if used in an ambush or by attacking the lighter armor in the sides or back of the turret.

Good point. It's like comparing a Sherman to a Panzer 1. No contest
@robertodeleon-gonzalez98447 жыл бұрын
The problem for a Japanese soldier needing a medium tank in WWII is that, outside of Japan proper, there were very few or none. Last thing I read on the matter seems to be that light tanks were the norm in the lands conquered by the Japanese Empire - while medium tanks were confined to Japan itself, in the event of an invasion.

let's see how to disable a ww2 Japanese tank? well shoot it anywhere use caliber 37mm and up, and that's how u disable it!

This is WW2, and just keep in mind people may not have a 37mm just lying around.

+Luca Stuart it was originally designed in 1933 as infantry support tank which was cheap, easy to produce in large numbers which were to be used against ill equipped Chinese. It can deal with US light tanks like Chaffee and Stuart's but not against a decade newer design line Sherman.

I have also heard that any slight change in the wind speed can disable any Japanese tank.
@i_nameless_i-jgsdf8 жыл бұрын
yes, they want to teach their men how to fight something in the situation where they do not have any anti-tank weapon. He never said how to destroy the tank just how to ''disable'' it, meaning how to make the tank become useless and either forcing the crew to come out and abandon it, or retreat.

the reason why the Japanese Imperial Army came out with such light tank model is because the East and South Asia campaign was basically held in the dense forest with muddy roads... it would not be practical at all if heavy tanks being used - it would stuck in the mud and this is the reason why Hitler's famed Panzer failed at Russia.. if Hitler had only used these Japanese tanks, he wud had conquered Russia...

As bad as they might have been they gave the British and Americans a hell of a supprise when they came out fo the jungle where Westerners said tanks cant opperate. The Brits for all got clobberd at Singapore by Japanese tanks. They might not have had quality tanks but they had the gumption to fight.
@robmiller18083 жыл бұрын
The British didn't have tanks in Singapore, most of their military equipment was being used for their survival against Germany or in supporting Russia. The Japanese were great when they were attacking unprepared or defenceless people but the tide soon changed.

I ever read a book written by shiba ryoutarou who was tank crew in WW2. He filed a corner of tarret of his tank, and could file off of it then. He was very surprised and disapointed the army.
