Just to let you know for your soldbuch. If youbare portraying early war a soldbuch photo is not needed. Yes its a cool personal touch much the photos werent generally seen until around june-july of 1944 as it wasnt mandatory or even used until then.

I like your set up. I usually keep the mess tin in my camp. If you have an assault pack it can be strapped onto that. I also placed a replica label on my shokakola tin.

well no especially late war soldiers were often slightly on the bigger side as they were running out of 18 year old younger fitter recruits however soldiers wouldnt be super overweight it dosent matter though. anyway can re enact

any idea where I can get a cleaning kit? either original, postwar or repro, so long as they have either correct or no date marking. the cheapest option is fine, as long as it works with the k98 rifle.

From research the mess kit would either be empty or some rations stored inside and as for the gas mask canister they always had the gasmask in them as it was required. Hope this helps
