My Dad was hit in his left leg 6 inches above his knee, it pulverized his bone , with that wound it left him with a leg that was three inches shorter and he had that bullet in for five years until they finally got it out, after that his wound finally healed, he managed well the rest of his life with a built up shoe. That happened at Anzio Italy January 1944.

The editing work on this video needs some work. How are you going to cut out some of what the man was saying about our country being the best and that other countries are trying to follow us, but then to proceed to have a 1:30 section of THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS THE WWII VETERANS at the end? Just cut out the banner at the end and give us more of what the man said. Just some advice/criticism.

Lucky for my Daddy/he was born in 26.So he missed Iwo and others. He was trained at Fort Pierce Fla. to pilot an LCVP. Not sure where his ship was when Japan surrendered. They did a Hugh practice invasion off Maui then headed toward the Mariana chain I think. He was at some Atol first from Hawaii and Sipan and Lyngiyan Gulf Luzon Philippines. Went in in late 44.Charles W. POPE Rainsville Alabama. 1926 to 2003
