@@mikeparaboschi5600 By reading a lot of books, visiting archives online but also the old paper archives, search the internet, study maps and use your instincts. Krakau (German) or Krakow (Sorbian) was a small town in what is now the district of Bautzen in Saxony, Germany. It was located within the Sorbian area, where many inhabitants traditionally speak the West Slavic Sorbian language, and it shared its name with the much larger Polish city. The town was entirely vacated in 1938 when the area became a military training area. After the war, the town was briefly repopulated, before the Soviet occupation troops again evicted the inhabitants to resume use of the area for military purposes. The town was destroyed. Krakau had 380 inhabitants as of 1834, 430 as of 1890 and 478 as of 1938.

But the shield is a crest of Kraków (capital of Germany's General Government during the war) so I don't think it has something to do with saxonian City.
@IronMikeMetaldetecting4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ed, Franciszek is right, it's the Polish city of Krakau. Can understand why you thought it might be a German city. Back then the German had Krakau under control so they must have seen it as their territory. Thanks for your comment, appreciate you trying to help out!

The Krakau emblem you found is the German for Krakow in Poland. This came from someone who served in Krakow. This emblem shows Kraakow castle in Poland. It was worn or given by someone who served in krakow for sure. I have seen this before, as I am a keen historian of WW2, especially in Poland and the Holocaust. Definitely a great find.

Congratulations, beautiful finds! We too are in search of German relics but in our area there are few since German soldiers had few things with them. We dig huge holes with the old garbage of American soldiers and find interesting relics inside. Here in Italy on the Gothic Line, the Americans fought almost 2 years before they managed to break through the German lines. You can see one of our large holes on our channel. Greetings from Tuscany, Italy.

i need some help identifying some finds. My friend has found 4 or 5 metal tubes. sort of the same size as a shotgun shell but all metal, 1 end open and the other is flat, again like a shell but with 3 small holes drilled through. all the way up the length there are also holes drilled round it. it's probably about 4 inches long and about 1 inch wide. I have no way of getting pictures, I just wondered if anyone knew what they were? the nearest thing I've seen to them is the end of a mortar round. but these have no fins and the holes in the sides aren't in a uniformed line like the mortars, they're all offset to each other.. if anyone has any idea from that terrible description, or can link me a picture of something it could be then I would be very grateful! They were found around cambridgeshire UK...

The ABCs of Salvation, or how to be right with God, and know you're going to Heaven: A-dmit that you're a sinner, and need a Savior. As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one. Romans 3:10 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 B-elieve that Jesus Christ died paying the penalty for your sins, and rose from the grave. He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross. 1 Peter 2:24 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures... 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 C-all on the Lord Jesus Christ to save you, and trust only in Him for your salvation. If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13 The moment you "believe," or, put your trust in what Jesus has done for you, God saves you and your eternal destiny in Heaven is assured. You go from spiritual death to eternal life the moment you believe. Jesus said it this way: Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. John 5:24😀
