Good vid Mike. Just for your information. The spoon you found was from a company that had a lot of tea rooms in the UK. They were called Lyons Co Ltd and later manufactured caked, biscuits etc.

2:52 you are absolutely right with Pfennig. But it's a "modern" one, post WW. As you flipped it to its back, you could see the writing "Bundesrepublik Deutschland" - Federal Republic of Germany.

You really rock with your stuff! The picture at 11:39 was taken a couple of miles from my home a day before D-Day. It is Greenham Common where Eisenhower bid the men to fare well. He stayed until the very last flight was made. Horser gliders were also launched from Greenham. I have in my garden a huge tether that screwed into the ground, much like a cork screw.

You're in! The picture of the US paratrooper having that thing strapped to his leg right before he flew off towards Normandy blew my mind when I saw it. Makes that thing so much cooler. and can understand why he would bring that. Such a small anti tank mine, must have been one of the smallest ones around back then. That ally tube/stringwithinnn: found siilarina stick grenade wooden handle in a F bunker, string was joined with a small piece of white ceramic or maybe Bakelite. Bob squad removed it with any other recovered pieces after a small unexpected explosion!

well the bakelite shards from broken fuze containers or whole containers is not a good sign, because there can be fuzes themselves near, the worst find one can find is a fuze

Recommendation? thinking of getting my first detector for use at the beach. Toss up between Garrett AT pro versus the Teknetics T2 LE. Your input would be appreciated. Thanks! And really enjoy your videos

Hi Philip! How about the Garrett Ace Apex? is has a very good salt mode version to get rid of those ghost signals when detecting the shore line. Iron Mike, a question. How long would these mines and hand grenades stay active after the War ? Considering the damp climate in Germany, 2-3 years maybe ?

All depends on what type of grenade and mine but it will always be unstable. So I rather not fool around with it.

@@IronMikeMetaldetecting I watched some Russian video where A guy found a mine, peeled off the rusty case and put a blasting cap in the plain cylinder of exposed explosives. He then placed it behind a tree and lit the fuse. When it went off, it exploded like it was made yesterday.

Hi, very cool videos ,really interessting locations and finds. Did you ever went to the forest of Cleve, where veritable took part? Really would like to see something from my hometown, but you aren't allowed to detect anywhere, without permission. And its really hard to get one, if you are german yourself. Last week I found a SS Treibstoff Kanister just lying on the surface in the woods.. just by walking around and taking a closer look to former positions .. Everytime I See your Videos of Berlin, they remind me of the woods right behind our house. Thanks for your work, stay Safe and "Schöne Grüsse aus Deutschland"
