Loving on Capcom brining all the RE games to iPad and IPhone. Super easy win for them and surprised how well they work. I’m sure more companies will soon follow making iPads and IPhones mobile gaming devices. On side note I’m surprised Ubisoft didn’t release Prince of Persia on Mac/IOS before Assassin’s Creed. Prince of Persia was one of the best games I’ve played in a long time and its seems like an easy conversion since they already have it out on Switch. Switch is basically an old Smart Phone chip set so the scaling is already there.

a few things i was happy for that apple annouced 1: IOS/iPadOS 18 now has game mode just like MacOS. which should help with better performance 2: gameport toolkit 2. which should help devs alot more and overall makes mac/ios a more developer happy platform to code for.

The problem I have with some of these AAA games is that they’re coming out at full price while their PC/console counterparts have them deeply on sale because they’ve been out for a while. Nevertheless, I’m happy to see the library expand.

Apple seems to be on the right strategy through: 1. Co-funding the release of more games onto the platform. 2. Roll out more features and software improvements to the Game Portal Toolkit to make the porting of games easier. 3. Build some software improvements into the chip's hardware, e.g., Ray Tracing. 4. Rolling out the Mac capabilities to the iPad and iPhone. If you can play AAA games on an iPhone, why do you need to buy a Switch? 85% of youths have iPhones. The more barriers Apple can remove, the more willing game developers will invest in the Apple ecosystem as the investment will be low in costs. My wish list: 1. Apple to purchase game developer 2. Put the M4 chip into the Apple TV, and suddenly, Apple has a game console that matches Sony and Microsoft.

👍 apple tv can definitely challenge high end consoles. Switch however is unique because of its exclusive games, if apple buys them, its over. Iphones will only get better from here and with apple ecosystem apple can do what microsoft is trying to do with cloud gaming, that is play on any device. While outside play on ur phone and continue playing on your large tv later.

@@TargaryenAC Yep. Apple can do what it did with the Mac Mini for the Apple TV, that is change the CPU and you have a very powerful device. Apple may need to increase storage, but that’s about it.

Apple is doing the right thing: co-funding (probably) porting titles to mac to get publisher's engines mac-ready and removing friction to increase the ROI. Very nice. And btw.: Control is awesome 🤩

The future is bright for mac gaming! Especially as the M class processors become more and more powerful with each generation. We need Call of Duty BlackOps or GTA 6 on Mac to make a splash. In fact, Apple should have bought Activision just to get the Call of Duty franchise.

The ipad and macbook could kill the steam deck as they are able to game longer and have better sustained performances if it had alot of console games and pc games (gta5,6) rdr2, metro exodus(for ipads) metro 2033(for ipads), metro last light(for ipads), cyberpunk (for ipads) COD MW series, black ops(reboots and originals) for mac and ipad, just cause 1,2,3,4, PUBG PC (for mac only) Escape from tarkov, l4d2, garrys mod, half life 2, cs2 and bringing back 32 bit support to play source games.

Nice that studios are improving the releases on Mac but when I buy one game on Steam (for example) I can play it on my Legion Go, laptop and desktop. Buying games for as Mac, usually involves multiple payments/buys or it works on macOS but not on iPadOS for example

Depends on developer, for example, snowrunner is available on Mac via steam, but death stranding is only available on Mac App Store

I understood your POW. But get the game after the release gives us the better version with low price. Now let See how AC shadows will be day one at the same time then other platform. To me the Apple device begins the best option, Triple A game playable on différant Apple device with cross save. Good performance and carry with all Retina display.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is definitely the highlight. I have MacBook Pro M1 Pro. I hope it can handle it pretty well on par with PS5 Version. As I have to leave my PS5 behind at home, I might get AC Shadows on my Mac if I don't have my PS5 back by then.

We're still going to be left behind at the end of the day I feel. I've used Macs since the 80's and have always liked their superior GUI in the OS. But Apple usually fails to grow their market share and when it did back when it was the clone era back in 96-98 all we got were "death of Apple" articles everywhere because Apple refused to compete with the likes of Power Computing. Unless Apple is getting these developers to offer their games side by side with their PC counterparts it will go nowhere. There are not enough gamers that want to rebuy their games for 2 to 5 times the price of the average sale price(Yes, sale... nearly every pc game site has regular sales.) the pc counterpart is going for. I'm may be in the minority, at least I am in the comments for this video but I do not give a rip about playing AAA games on my iPad with touch controls(not counting the fact that my iPad Pro is not an M chip.) That goes quadruple for playing them on my iPhone with like a 4x2(or smaller) screen. All my gripes aside I welcome any and all Mac Ports developers wish to make. Just don't expect me to care about rebuying them. I have Control Ultimate Edition on GOG. Give me the Mac version for free there and I'm celebrating, Offer it up through the App Store and I couldn't care less(+ I've already made the decision that I don't like Apple's DRM). I got Death Stranding for free on Epic Game Store. I'd likely buy the Director's Cut Upgrade if they offered the mac version their. But I'm not going to buy it on Apple's store. I've occasionally rebought games but it's typically when it gets down to paying in the 1-3 bucks for the convenience range(I.E. rebuying games on GOG because I like having easy DRM-Free installers.)

Wuthering Waves sucks. Another one of those games that tries to bait simps into spending a $200 minimum for a handful of dice rolls on a character you probably won't pull anyway. Control and the RE games are always great. Hard recommend.

Some interesting games, but many I can already play on my Steam Deck. Whatever happened to No Man's Sky for M series iPads? It often feels like too little too late. OK, you can install software compatibility layers to help you run games not native to Apple silicon but that often involves a lot of work. I tried four different methods for running Genshin Impact an Apple Silicon Mac, play cover 2 & sideloading the iPad OS version gave me the best experience while it worked, and then for the Desktop game version, Parallels & Windows 11 arm VM suffered from graphics driver issues, I couldn't get Crossover 24 to work, and YAAGL worked OK except for web redirects. Every time Genshin Impact game software was updated, all methods that worked, failed and you work back to square one, debugging or waiting for the software capability layer updates to catchup. Genshin Impact desktop plays well and upgrades without issue on my Steam Deck! Consequently, I rarely bother using my M2 MacBook Pro for gaming these days.
