So essentially, it'll have a really great roster, but still be a game well over a decade out of date...... Seriously. The WWE 2K series needs to cancel it's next 5 WWE titles, and take those 5 years to get it right. 2K4 has the clunkiest and jerkiest animations of any modern major release. Some of the worst transitions from one animation to another that I've ever seen. And I doubt it'll improve an inch in 2K5. (Like how in the world do they expect to get Roxanne Perez to even work on their engine? Her ENTIRE style is based on innovative/unconventional and smooth transitions from one hold or move to another. She just doesn't and will NOT work on the 2K engine as it exists now.) Yearly release schedules just DON'T work. The WWE 2K series is just PAINFULLY outdated by this point. Hell, there are weirdly wrestling games from the late 90s and early 2000s that are fundamentally better put together than what the WWE 2K series has managed. I WANT to be excited by this. But we ain't going to be getting any halfway decent wrestling games any time soon. Not until some brave company is willing to put at least 5 years of REAL effort into building better gameplay from the ground up, and a SIGNIFICANTLY better, smoother, and more detailed animation system.
