I've noticed across a lot of predictions people are looking purely at 1v1 matches at Mania; I would consider booking Roman to win the Rumble, pick Cody for a Mania rematch, but CM Punk calls in the Heyman favour to make it a triple-threat for the undisputed title.

I agree and Roman keeping up for so many years only powerbombed the point home. We don't expecr a title change on anything but a huge show so why invest in the possibility of a different outcome

People want what they're not having at the given moment. If the belt changed hands often or in unpredictable ways, people would say they hot potato it (like when Cena and Orton feuded) and it loses its prestige, also making your champion look weaker. Despite beating him and holding the belt for almost a year, Cody still feels like a weaker champion than Roman, because of how long Roman was on top and how carefully crafted Bloodline storylines were most of the time. It doesn't matter that he always had goons to help him win matches, but the sheer length of his title reign and aura of untouchability made him feel like an unkillable god. And you want your champion looking like that, because he's the face of your company, the pinnacle of your product.

In the first 34 Rumbles, only twice was the Rumble not the weekend before the Super Bowl. Those 2 outliers were 2 weeks before the Super Bowl during conference championship weekend, as were the last 3 rumbles since the NFL decided to add an extra game to the season and push back Super Bowl weekend to be within the second week of February. This year, it looks like the WWE is trying to re-establish its place as the live even if the weekend during the NFL playoff bye week. I’ll bet dollars to donuts that next years will be Jan 31.

I hadn’t really thought about it but the idea of Roman winning the rumble, Punk cashing in on his favor to make it Roman vs Cody vs Punk for the title as one of the main events and then having Cena get his world title match against Gunther kinda feels right to me. Gunther can play it up as part of his schtick where he sees Cena as successful but not a real wrestler and wants to prove that real wrestling is superior to Cena and Cena wants that elusive record breaking title reign. It gives you an opportunity to reinvigorate the reign of Gunther and rehab some of his character that’s been lost in this half a face character change

Cena : too early. Better to make his final run end with a title shot around survivor series. Punk : has a “favor” owed to him by Heyman that storyline says needs to come into play at some point so I expect he loses the rumble and loses the elimination chamber then attempts to cash in. Roman : makes sense for him to win but doesn’t have to be Cody. Roman vs Gunther would be a great match as well. In that next tier I see Jey Uso being only guy that makes sense so he can get that 3rd and final shot at Gunther at Wrestlemania.

Roman has absolutely no reason to go after Gunther. While Roman was champion, he buried the heavyweight title calling it the lesser belt. Before his tag match with Cody, he and Cody had the movie segment where Roman told Cody that he's coming for Cody's title after he's done with Solo. There's absolutely no way he goes after the WHC unless someone else wins the rumble and chooses Cody due to which Roman can't challenge for it anymore

After what happened on Monday, Sami and KO for the WWE Title don't need to be heel VS heel for Mania. It's like this: 1. Drew costs Cody the match with KO after Sami chooses not to help 2. Cody runs in during the Rumble and causes Drew's elimination 3. Sami wins the Rumble and challenges KO for the WWE Title at Mania 4. Cody VS Drew at Mania in something like a dog collar match

The WWE Royal Rumble is always held on the week after the NFL's two conference Championship games, and the weekend before the Superbowl, so that it's not competing with American Football. The Superbowl is happening later than usual this year -- Not sure why THAT is, but it at least explains the Feb 1st date for the Rumble.

In my eyes there should be only 2 possible starts for the men's rumble. Jey Uso at number 1. For the pop and hot start. And at number 2 joe hendry. I would really like Jey to win the Rumble. Imagine Jey and Roman as the final two. It's almost definitely not going to happen, but it would be so interesting for Roman and Jey's relationship. Also, you could then make the Elimination Chamber have Punk, Roman, and Cena in it, which would be very fun. Then do Cody vs Cena vs Roman vs Punk at Mania.

I'd kinda like to see Becky Charlotte 1 and 2. Then Bayley 3, we get a mini reunion of the remaining horsewomen. Then we can use that to setup a confrontation with some of NXTs upcoming womens division members. My pitch for Cena is that he is last elimination in rumble and chamber, he loses MITB. His last chance at a guaranteed title shot is to win the only thing in WWE he never did with King of the Ring, and get his title shot at SummerSlam.

The reason the rumble is this weekend is for the past several years they have made sure the rumble falls on the weekend between the NFC/AFC NFL championship games, and the superbowl. There is a weekend with no NFL on, and that is where WWE put RR, instead of having to compete with the NFL playoffs, or even worse, the Superbowl....

Get used to the Rumble being in Feburary because as the NFL adds another game and week to their schedule it going to be pushed back because The Rumble is always held on the weekend before the Super Bowl where there's no games happening

Here are mine WWE Royal Rumble Predictions (will update if matches get added) DIY over MCMG in an absolute banger. Possible cheating shenanigans but I think this is a showcase for the Tag Team Division moment. Cody over KO with possible shenanigans. I want to pick KO so much but...there is just still too much Cody needs to do with that championship. Women's Rumble: This one is absolutely difficult to pick and could go so many ways. My heart wants to see Jordayne Grace debut as a WWE talent and win it. But, the inevitable I believe is the return of The Queen and a Charlotte victory. Charlotte vs Rhea 2 at Mania. Men's Rumble: This one should be Punk but that favor story kinda dies if he wins. So in a "stay with me now" move, Roman wins the Rumble after Punk is screwed by both Drew and Seth. This will eventually lead to Punk calling in that favor after his hopes are also dashed come Elimination Chamber, leading to a very insane 3 way of Cody vs Roman vs Punk. Surprises: Women's Likely: Grace, Charlotte, Jade, Becky, Guilia or Stephanie Most likely not but please: Alexa Bliss, AJ Lee, and DMD Britt Baker (I know I know...not happening) Men's Likely: Joe Hendry, The Hardys, Mustafa Ali, Nic Nemeth aka Dolph Most likely not but please: Aleister Black (I believe the contract isn't up until February/March time), Keith Lee, Always Ready Woo Woo Woo Zack Ryder/Matt Cardona Let's see how wrong I am lol.

Here’s a crazy idea for WWE: •Don’t let Charlotte win the rumble •Don’t let Charlotte win the Chamber •Don’t give Charlotte a championship Great to have her back. Don’t reward her constant absence with a championship when so many female superstars have been carrying the show for months (or at least trying to). 6 or 7 championships of hers have been on returns. It’s actually boring.

I love that the myriad of face vs face main event options for mania are fine but it’s insane for heel vs heel. An answer is Sami accidentally helping Owens to win or someone showing up in a generico mask to either help or stop Owens. Just a thought. Owens can drop it back in Toronto. I don’t believe anything Cody says on the microphone anymore. He’s lost relatability.

Dream scenario, Bianca and Naomi are controlling early doors, teaming up, particularly on Charlotte. Only those three left in it, about to eliminate Charlotte, Jades music hits. They team up and Throw out Bianca and Naomi, setting up WM Tag match. Becky enters, eliminated by Lyra. Bailey enters, eliminated by Roxanne, setting up those WM matches. Nia gets eliminated by wins EC to set up Rhea at Mania. Hopefully either AJ Lee or Alexa win it to set up Tiffany at Mania, or Liv Morgan for the same belt. Mens, maybe Priest, setting up Cody, Keep that Punk/Cody plate spinning till next year. Fatu eliminates Roman, Sheamus eliminates Bron Breaker. I would say it should be a Raw winner, but the likely opponents for Gunther appear to be Jey, Seth or Logan and i dont think either are particularly inspired Rumble winners

Here's my "never gonna happen, but I'd be thrilled if it did" pitch. KO wins the belt DESPITE Sami showing up, and NOT helping him against Cody. Sami loses the Rumble because of KO. So what happens next? Elimination Chamber. In it, we have Cody Rhodes (who wants to get his belt back from KO), Sami Zayn (who wants the belt from KO), John Cena (who needs to win to face KO for #17, because he also doesn't win the Rumble), and three other guys. Sami wins EC, goes into Rumble to face KO, firmly as the face (Wrestlezania, anyone?) and wins his first world championship which he rightfully deserves. On the plus side? You can set up a Cody v Cena match a Mania, and it doesn't have to be a title match. Cena can have his #17 later in the year.
