It's Here Comes the Pain and SVR '04 are the same game. SYM and JBI are virtually identical, but SYM is more polished. But from Just Bring it to Smackdown vs Raw, I cannot complain, love all of those games

They need to make the new games like these. Smackdown 1 to HTCP we’re literal perfection. The problem is 2K’s goal is to make the games mirror reality. Everything is super “realistic”; when we were younger the games had a lot more of a arcade feel. From the ability to climb the titantron, fighting backstage in the kitchens, bars, train stations and boiler rooms. Yeah it wasn’t as realistic as what we see on tv, but thats what made it fun. Even the freeze frame matrix style 360 was so fire. They took all the fun out and now it’s just like I’m watching a live match. It’s so boring, if I wanna see a real match I’ll watch it, let me ride a motorcycle and run my opponent over, or throw them into a car and watch them blow up and fly across the room😭😭

The Smackdown games are a perfect example of why fun gameplay is more important than realism. Realism tends to make video games boring. I'd like to see Smackdown type games return. Arcade style, fast paced gameplay, a lot of backstage areas, hardcore matches, interactive objects, etc. Now days, wrestling games seem focused on realism. As a result, there's a lot you can't do in the game. It makes the games boring.

I remember when I got this game. I was in like, 3rd grade and I ended up getting sick at school. I threw up everywhere and my mom picked me up. Thinking it would help me feel better she took me to GameStop at our local mall and we got this game. I vividly remember sitting on the floor of game stop feeling like death but she did her best to cheer me up. I went home and went to bed but woke up later on in the evening and started playing SYM. I played it nonstop until HCTP came out.
