I’m 51 years old. Generation X…Born in the early 70’s and was in high school in the late 80’s. I grew up on 1970’s and 80’s wrestling. It Brings a tear to your eye. This is a gut wrenching reality check when you see all your childhood wrestling heroes have passed on. Unbelievable how time flies bye. We are not guaranteed another breath folks!

Most of them died at a very early age. People say it is because of totally uncontrolled steroid usage and grueling lifestyle.
@michaelantolini81352 ай бұрын
But unfortunately it’s not. There is a clear difference with steroid use vs abuse/misuse. The only a few wrestlers that I see in that entire list that have died from long term effects from abuse are Ultimate Warrior, Davey Boy Smith, Superstar Billy Graham (not featured), Rick Rude, Hercules Hernandez and Butch Reed. If you’re a wrestler, the amount of bodily punishment that you go through in your lifetime is unimaginable, and the long term effects from that are absolutely real. CTE is not just an NFL thing anymore, It is becoming more prevalent in contact/collision/striking sports more than ever before…even Soccer. I think most people blame steroids because it’s so easy to blame something that is so taboo and frowned upon. And steroids don’t cause CTE. But a huge majority of people know so little about them, I mean a little, like not a lot. And it’s not even close. And lots of people still don’t know the benefits of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). The details of this particular topic goes FAR beyond this thread. I just hope that this can give you a greater respect and different perspective on the topic of steroids and wrestling.
