I thought JR was gonna call the GB v BL match. When he came down the ramp for the Taker match, I just knew: This is a retirement match. And I think that's how he wanted to go out. Trying hard to put over someone, out on his back. His way of saying "I know you don't like this guy, no one liked me originally when I first started as Callous Mark, but I think he is worthy, I have picked him, you should trust me. It's his yard now." And I think that's true. A lot of Roman's problems come form the lack of confidence from the crowd. I don't know if it's because all the bad timing from the injury during his best push so far, or that combined with how we felt like he was being rammed down our throats. But how is he supposed to get out there and do his thing when the crowd won't give him another chance? I bet his mic work gets a hell of a lot better with crowd confidence.
@thomasjenkins75067 жыл бұрын
i can't put the blame on roman for the boos. he's really done nothing to deserve it. i put 100% of the blame on creative. roman is good in the ring. he's not the best on the mic, but he's serviceable. there have been main eventers worse than him.

What? Taker wanted his last match to be against Cena, that's pretty well known. Reigns was 100% Vince's decision.
@mikemiken19637 жыл бұрын
DahDutcher Right. It is incredible that Cena wanted Taker, vice versa and it didn't happen. If Taker had one more match in him it would if been Cena this year. Then a younger guy would of retired him next year.
@Xehanort107 жыл бұрын
It wasn't that people didn't accept Undertaker when he was Mean Mark Callous. WCW misused him like they did a lot of others back then such as Mick Foley, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Stone Cold when he was there as Stunning Steve Austin, Chris Jericho and so on. It's a good thing the WWF decided to give Mark Calaway the Undertaker gimmick because he was originally going to be the Gobbledy Gooker. And you're saying Reigns WAS being rammed down our throats? He still IS being rammed down our throats. Fans have given him enough chances and still he comes out there with forgettable matches, unmemorable feuds, bored, emotionless, robotic sounding promos, his ring gear, mannerisms and music still being linked to The Shield, getting the same invincible, unbeatable, unstoppable Superman ripoff who can only lose by cheating or interference gimmick that Cena has, only 3 moves and occasionally using the Samoan drop as a 4th move. Another reason people don't like him is that in real life interviews Reigns shows himself to be a narcissistic prick who is convinced everyone has to like him and childishly insults people who don't. He's called people who don't like him "basement dwelling losers who feel entitled to their indie guys." Funny coming from a guy who thinks he's entitled to being cheered and liked and lashes out, insults or downright bullies people when he learns he's not entitled to those things. Vince McMahon is obsessed with the idea of getting Reigns over as a babyface and is willing to do anything to force the fans to like Reigns and so instead of pushing someone the fans actually like he instead wants to force the fans to like someone HE likes. Vince is arrogant and thinks that because the fans don't want what he wants that means they don't know what they want even though they do and it's not Reigns. And that "This is my yard now" catchphrase was cringy the first time he said it and it's still cringy now. It comes across as Reigns and Vince desperately trying to convince themselves and the fans that he's the guy now even though he isn't. It isn't Reigns's yard now, it never was Reigns's yard and it will never be Reigns's yard ever.

This is just me, but I actually really like reviews that rank things based on recommendation rather than numbers or letters. What I mean by that is, would I recommend a product to someone, and if so, how would I recommend it. Like I watch a group of reviewers who do that with movies, where they give a recommendation at the end of the review, usually it ends up like: - Pay full theater price - Watch it in a matinee/cheep theater price - Wait for when it comes out on rental - Don't watch it unless you lost a bet - Don't watch it Then sometimes the recommendations are a bit more specific. I feel like that's a more informative style of review. I feel like giving something a number or letter grade doesn't always accurately convey the message that a reviewer is trying to convey to his/her audience. That being said, I wanna ask everyone here in this comment section: would you recommend this Wrestlemania? And if so, how would you recommend it?
@ToadySP7 жыл бұрын
In answer of my own question. This is a Wrestlemania that a lot of people are split on and I completely understand why. I know a guy who is a huge fan of the late Attitude Era, and Ruthless Aggression Era, he watched this Wrestlemania solely because Goldberg was involved. He hadn't watched any of the buildup except for a few KZbin videos that featured Goldberg. He only bought a WWE Network subscription because he wanted to be able to watch Goldberg's matches live, as they were happening. He watched the entire Wrestlemania, and was bored with all but three of the matches: the exceptions being Shane vs Styles, Aries vs Neville, and Brock vs Goldberg. He thought the Wrestlemania was boring as hell, but even he got choked up by the way The Undertaker left. I also know three guys who watched the buildup for this Mania, have been following WWE for the past few years, and were excited for nearly every single match on the card. They felt like this was one of the most awesome Wrestlemanias ever. They freaked the fuck out when The Hardy's returned, and generally had a blast throughout the entire night. Overall, what I've come out of this is: this isn't a Wrestlemania I would recommend to someone who's been completely ignoring WWE since 2008. While this _is_ a Wrestlemania that successfully appeals to nostalgia, it also has several hours of new guys doing new guy things. I feel like this is a great Wrestlemania for fans of current day WWE, but to fans of a bygone era going into this with nostalgia cravings: it may leave you with more heartbreak and boredom than entertainment. Overall, I felt like this was a great Wrestlemania, and I would recommend watching it on The Network to someone who's witnessed the buildup. If you've seen the buildup, this will be 7 hours of pure joy.

Few things: 1. Shane vs. AJ was my match of the night for how well that surprised me of how good that was. 2. About the RAW Women's match: I think we forget that they can't conclude EVERY storyline at Mania. That was, to me, to legitimize Bailey's title win by doing it "cleanly". I think that was the conclusion of that story. However, we forget that they still need to work in some things that they can continue on with into Payback (and they have shown they want to make their non-marquee events important to watch, too), Extreme Rules, and even Summerslam, if you want to go that far into the future. I think we forget that they can't put everything on these marquee PPVs, and they have to draw you to their other shows. 3. Some matches missed their targets and didn't live up to their builds, but nothing was that terrible or even that bad. The show DID go on for way too long, though, and I think fan fatigue hurts the shows when they go on that long. 4. New Day hosting was fine (and there was a good reason they did the Final Fantasy cosplaying: the upcoming FF14 expansion pack Stormblood was one of the sponsors). Wondering what you guys thought of them! 5. I would LOVE to see them build a Reigns heel run on the Taker match; fans WANT to hate him, and I think he's been showing that he WANTS to go heel but WWE won't let him for some reason. 6. The commentary team for the Reigns vs. Taker was JBL, Cole, and JR. The same team that called what many consider to be Taker's best Mania match: WM 25 match vs. Shawn Michaels. Maybe symbolic, in a way. 7. This would be a good "Who War It Better?" segment, because I would be curious to see which brand you thought "won Wrestlemania"! Okay, that was more than just a few things! So sue me!

The Undertaker match wasn't very good. It just became really damn sad at the end. That may have been the intention but the road to get there was kinda meh. It's time for him to hang it up. @edcowan61327 жыл бұрын
I thought some matches (Owens/Jericho, Wyatt/Orton, Rollins/Triple H) were incredibly underwhelming and watching at home it didn't seem the crowd were into it. I thought the two worst matches (on the main card), were the women's matches, and that's not a sexist thing. I felt the SD match was clearly rushed with everyone just getting their stuff in. And as for the Raw match, they did a good job protecting Nia but the botched "exposed" turnbuckle made Sasha look super weak also the elimination just came out of nowhere, and given that Bayley has used the elbow in past matches but not won with it, it made Charlotte look weak when she was eliminated - again out of nowhere.

I do wish that Undertaker would have won his last match, but I also understand him being a traditionalist that the tradition of your last match being a loss was something he intended to keep... I also appear to be one of the few who liked it that it was to a face. As a fan who is sick of the heels getting every single thing their way, I'm glad the last match was face vs. face, even though it wasn't the face vs. face match we wanted (Undertaker/Cena), & to be honest, I wanted Undertaker/& Roman Reigns to have a match at last years Wrestlemania. I know not everyone is big with Roman Reigns, but it could have been worse... Could you imagine if Undertaker's last match was against Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt, or Dolph Ziggler?... That would have been a true travesty.

Like the moment at the end of Owens-Zayn at battleground, where Zayn held up Owens for a moment, or when KO shouted at Sami to stay down. The whole friendship breakdown since the Festival of Friendship has been really good so it seems like a missed opportunity.

When it comes to bad commentary nobody holds a candle to Byron Saxton on Raw and David Otunga on Smackdown.

The one problem i had with the Taker v. Roman promo was that they completely ignored american badass/big evil taker.

Seth vs H.H.H is a low-key H.B.K vs H.H.H 2.0 where Seth's injured part was tack, but triumphs much like H.B.K

33 was definitely better than 32 but it was very long. My thoughts were that the two matches (the mixed tag and the rollins/HHH match) were counter programming to the season finale of "Walking Dead" on the east coast. The suits were probably well aware of that there would be some channel changing. I did not get to see the pre show or the battle royal because me being sick and resting. My first match was the Jericho/KO match which was was really good until I saw Styles/Shane which was a great opener. My fave was the seven minute power match between Lesnar/ Goldberg with close second of being UT/Reigns. To me, the superimposed images during the Wyatt/Orton match were distracting. I honestly think that no one told Orton about it, because the first reaction was like WTF! Good card, for the most part.

Thegoddamn Darkknight yep, his previous appearances involve him getting speared by edge on top a ladder, taking out edge with a leg drop from the top of the ladder and getting himself deleted by broken Matt in an extreme rules match

this is what Vince wants and his plan along. Roman being hated gets people invlovled, butts in the seats and people watching.

Honestly I think the reason why the match was no holds bars was originally they were going to have roman turn heel but then they backed out of at the last minute

Mania may go on forever but it's still better than the Oscars.

I will agree that this Mania is better than last year's. This Mania had a few good matches, a few good moments, and a few bad moments/matches. But overall, I wasn't as disappointed as last year's Mania.

I'm going to say this was way better than last year's and the year before that but just about on the same level as WrestlemanIa 30. I'd give it a B+ average better than a D for 32.

I'm with you on this one Zane B+ I would probably go as high as an A- low as a B this was solid Goldberg vs Lesnar actually surprised me MOTN for me would be Seth Rollins vs HHH or AJ vs Share

AJ Vs. Shane: Good (B+) Kevin Owens Vs. Chris Jericho: Decent (B) RAW Women's title Fatal 4 way: Alright (B-) RAW tag team championship match: Good (B+) Mainly because of the HARDY BOYZ John Cena and Nikki Cena Vs. Miz and Maryse: Meh (C) Seth Rollins Vs. Triple H: Good (B+) Bray Wyatt Vs. Randy Orton: Disappointing (C) Brock Lesnar Vs. Goldberg: Good (B+) Smackdown Women's title match: Meh (C) Undertaker Vs. Roman Reigns: Bad,sloppy IMO (C-)

Kian Patel Good review of the matches, totally agree! I think in time people will forgive the Taker/Reigns match. It was the right call to pass the torch to Reigns. Just wish they called an audible since the end was very botchy.

if a C- is horrible, then what is an F in your system?
@teccosman7 жыл бұрын
Kian Patel taker vs reigns as a match was bad but the story telling was good. If taker got edged out in a 5* match we'd all think reigns had crushed a legit taker and is too strongly booked, having him put down the injured dog was much better for takers retirement

B+ is exactly what I rated it at. My only criticisms are is that it was way too long and there were only 3 matches I didn't like. Other than, it was much better than I thought it would be as I went into this with extremely lowered expectations from all the weird booking decisions leading up to it.
