I remember i was 15....sitting on AOL in a wwf chat room during king of the ring. And I was listening to the PPV channel because you couldn't see it but you could hear it. And between hell in the cell and the first blood match it all just sounded like complete chaos, plus with with JR and king going nuts I didn't even have to see it for it to be my fav PPV. Plus in the chat room everyone was losing their sh*t, so that made it even more fun. And then Austin winning it back the next night!....such a great time to be around!

Between mid 1996 and mid 2001 we just never knew how good we had it with wrestling at the time, every week was must see whether it be Raw or Nitro and the height of the Monday Night War between late 1997 and early 1999 was a non stop rollercoaster.

The greatest era in wrestling EVER. I remember having to flip the channel back and forth from RAW to NITRO. It was Glorious 😂

1997 was the genesis of the attitude era. It peaked in 1998 and then simmered for 2 years before it ended in 2001.

In 1997 and 1998 I was a sophomore and junior in high school who owned a Hogan buddy doll and Warrior version as a child. I grew up watching wrestling, going to live events bc of my father and his love for the business. But I never had more fun as a wrestling fan than my sophomore through senior year. Everyone on our basketball team watched wrestling, so the locker room was incredibly fun! You can’t pick one moment from times like these. Times when we honestly questioned whether some stuff was real and not kayfabe. It was PPV quality TV on every week, and 1998 sure qualifies! You’re an incredible writer and deliver your voiceover lines with boldness and ease. My sincerest thanks for all the work that goes into these videos.

Great year it was haha. Shawn missed out on the height of the attitude era as a wrestler duento his injury. Although hated backstage would have been great to have seen him have a run during the pinnacle

The rocks month before 1998 survivor series needs to be highlighted more. Talk about an asteroid hitting the wwf. His rise from the nation to fan favorite is something I remember so vividly .

97 was a transition. It was still about the in ring product. Bret, shawn, owen, undertaker. A lot of the old guard was still about the wrestling more than the other stuff that the attitude era was about. I honestly tuned out in 1998. The "soap opera" stuff was just completely uninteresting.

6:20 he didn’t lose at WM14.. He (Kane) got the title long before his WM15 match with Taker. Your point was good though because Kane truly felt unbearable at that time. The finish to their first blood match was actually clever and it worked. One of the few Vince Russo ideas that didn’t suck.

Undertaker/Kane was at WrestleMania 14 in 1998 with Undertaker winning then Kane beating Austin a few months later at KOTR 98, Kane lost to Triple H at WrestleMania 15 which was in 1999 and Undertaker beat Big Boss Man in a Hell In A Cell at the same WrestleMania

I watched the Royal rumble 98 yesterday just cause, but the bump after the casket bump Shawn took, “looked” much much worse than that bump. He got slammed on the padding on the outside with a body slam.. by the almost 7 foot dead man.

I'd love to be watching a Rock movie like The Rundown or Fast 5 and during one of the fight scenes Stonecold & The Undertaker just appear out of nowhere and hit him with a Stunner and a Tombstone..i think it would be hilarious and a reminder that movies are not real life..lol Directors missed the boat.

6:34 is that edited to remove the wwf logo from the belt or did they cut it out I wonder because they wouldn't have to get the f out for two or three years after this. I know this belt eventually got a black strap with the scratch logo but why cut the pieces out like that rather than replace it all together. Curious.

The Artist Formerly Known as Goldust isn't a complete failure that you make it out to be. His gimmick got reactions from the crowd, like SableDust and DustyDust. To make an example out of his gimmick parroting others rather than what they actively tried to push like Tiger Ali Singh or WWF's insistance to use the DOA is nonsense.
