Bret “The Hitman” Hart is quite simply "The Best there is, the Best there was and the Best there ever will be", a man who achieved all there was to achieve in wrestling on his way to becoming a true icon of the sport. In his infamous own way he gave this exclusive interview laden with incredible stories and with more than a dash of his unique dry wit.
As always, Bret pulls absolutely no punches with his opinions

Bret has every right to be as emotional as he is in parts of this interview. Dude has been through so much and has been screwed over so many times. Just about every close friend and family member he’s had is dead. He was fucked over in WWF and fucked over in WCW. For all the shit he’s been through he’s actually holding it together really well.

I am right there with you guys. I seen him wrestle twice in the Omni in Atlanta in 90 &91. He was in the Hart Foundation tagging at the time but he's definitely my all time favorite wrestler. And I loved the 97 heel turn and I think he did his best ring work and mic work at that time. And the 90s was better!

I got to see Bret Hart wrestle live just a few short weeks before his injury at the hands of Goldberg. Halloween Havoc '99 live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV. Bret wrestled Lex Luger that night. I was just 6 years old. I'll never forget how loud my screams were when Bret made his entrance. My Dad was a real big Bret Hart fan and he passed down his fandom to me and I've been a Bret Hart fan since. I'm 28 now. He's still my hero. Bret really made some of the bad times in my childhood and teen years bearable. A real legend. I'm so blessed and grateful that I got to watch him once at a live event. If anybody had the chance to watch Bret wrestle live, you're lucky!

I don’t think he’s tired bcuz of that. I think he’s tired becuz #1. He just kind of had a melancholic personality. #2. He’s in pain. #3. He had a stroke. #4 His brother died. #5 Goldberg almost caved his head in with his foot. Bret doesn’t necessarily have a “cup half full” attitude which doesn’t help either. His main sense of resentment from a non-physical ailment perspective seems to be the fact that he felt like he was rejected by the WWF and had to end his career humiliated in the “Bush League” WCW.

bret was a perfectionist when coming to his technical in ring skills, how he maneuvered mentally with phycology of all his matches & story lines.. he states himself 7 out of 10 with mic skills, i agree with him up to the attitude era forth... but his mic skills at end of his career on mic were legendary imo... bret's biggest negative as a whole was he breathed the hitman character obsessively all his life tied wrestling as a shoot. that will fk with anyone's head in time.. in the end, hes top 3 ever to lace the boots

Things move on extremely quickly from generation to generation unfortunately and people are quickly forgotten for the next perceived big thing. Those in the crowd are probably die hard old school wrestling fans, who are probably few and far between these days. Wrestling is a dying sport, mainly because guys like Bret just aren't present in today's talent. Yeah sure, wrestlers can pull off more fancy stuff these days, but the real art of the pacing, timing, storytelling and realism that Bret was renowned for is a lost art. Just enjoy the memories man, was watching that opener of WM10 between Bret and Owen and that match is one of the best wrestling matches I've ever seen, still now. To think it was first on the card as well.

i always love the way bret tells stories. u give him one word and he speaks out everything that comes to his mind. he also never sugarcoats anything and i personally NEVER found him bitter in any way - he has the right to be that way more than anybody else, so he is simply honest and not bitter. todays wrestling isn't wrestling anymore and like bret, i love to watch the oldschool stuff instead of wwe's soap opera bs or aew's high flying clown fest. since the early 90s when i started to watch wrestling, bret hart is my hero in the ring and he is simply the best ever. the interviewer is a lil annoying tho...

The name Bret Hart is synonymous with the word legend. He'd proved this time and time again. Bret also has proven to be an excellent storyteller in which he can tell funny anecdotes with a straight face. Regarding his story about him and Owen tugging their earlobes as a sign for the steward to move Davey to the back of the plane, I wonder if they used to watch Carol Burnett--she used to tug her earlobe at the end of her shows. *38:00* Bret: "My dog at home knows more about wrestling than Eric Bischoff will ever know." Classic!

Bret said to Goldberg before the match they had at Starrcade " whatever you do Bill, don't hurt me. Please don't hurt me. " So it was already known that Goldberg could be stiff in the ring. Yes he obviously didn't mean to do what he did to Bret. I think Bret is still annoyed with the lack of care shown by Goldberg in the ring, and has every right to.

Why do people keep booking Bret? He’s told the same 5 story’s for 20 years. That’s not even mentioning his books and dvds. Yes he was champion, but wrestling is a work. He wasn’t a boxer, mma fighter, or any combat sport champion. Bret and cornette are the only two that take this seriously.
