Great video! I'm very happy various places around the world is getting on board with sustainability....now if each citizen does his or her part we can be sustainable a lot faster, even if it's capturing the cold water runoff from our shower as it gets warm and using it to water the plants in the garden.

Very critical! As currently we are just depleting nature... One important issue I see unmentioned is.. The basic architecture of building or property needs to be radically changed. Few things must be considered: 1. Roof top gardening to make up for the surface area lost.. 2. When possible having sky scrapers with exclusive floors for plants/agriculture(I know it's not easy, but possible). 3. When planning road system.. making sure we are leaving certain percentage of nature untouched.. I personally can see having overpass or bridges just to cultivate fruits and veges

We're depleting NATURE? what about the wild animal trophy hunting the founder of this corporation has shot down dead? www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/prince-philip-proudly-poses-tiger-6174056 What about the weather modification which has beeb on going world wide which is infesting the soil making it flammable, killing the bees, filling the tree's roots our lungs and blood stream with aluminum nano particles so they can cry UN's Sustainable Developments "climate change" ?

Nature bridges that allow animals to cross highways are very important to maintain the natural environment. A cable system above or a galvanized pipe underneath would be all that is needed.

There is no good or bad energy source. The ”bad” things is using any type of energy. We need to use so much less energy to not destroy the planet for us (everyone else will be fine its really only about us humans). This ”less” use of energy is not possible if we have a economic system that is dependent on growth.

they probably think climate change is a grand exaggerated lie orchestrated by the left and by climate scientists to push their "green agenda". And universities are in on it of course because tertiary education is a tool to brainwash society. I imagine they also believe the earth is flat. It's amazing the justifications people can come up with to avoid having to change or accept responsibility.

@@koalaberrI can go fully zero waste and the heavy weight of the responsibility is still going to be on the big cooperations dumping their shit on the sea , planting grass on the roof won’t change the fact of the carbon emissions that building still produced , most buildings showcased were from steel + concrete + glass , not saying buildings can’t be “friendlier “ but going only onto sustainability with lots of greenification is definitely not the main path, why would you build more in the first place? why older buildings were not being used again (and not demolished)? what about natural materials (like mud)? those things were not addressed.

If you live in an urban area how much are used for commuting? That means a vehicle big enough for 5 passengers is being used over and over for only one passenger. If you need to commute use a vehicle for one passenger. It would be physically smaller can have pedals, electric or scooter sized gas. Since the passenger weight is much smaller the structure can be more delicate and lighter further saving energy. For every commuter car you could have four of these velomobile/ scooters reducing congestion and saving wear and tear on the roads and bridges. They would be enclosed to allow a dry environment with heat and air conditioning. They should be able to carry upto a 240lb rider and 100lbs of luggage.

Have any of you looked into the hyundai ioniq hybrid? My fiancé has one and we only fill the tank once a week. Kicker: he works 45mins away, we go out a lot to friends and family, go shopping... for $20 a WEEK! The battery charges itself when you break or slow down, essentially every time you take you foot off the accelerator you're not wasting gas and it does not turn off on you like some other cars do. WORTH THE INVESTMENT!!!!!

Or how all those dying of hunger and poverty could be fed and cared for, if we stopped feeding THEIR crops to our livestock so we could buy an animals tourtured life for a dollar at McDonald's.... A city in the current economic system and its current state CAN NOT be sustainable. I dont understand how they think cities can consume so much from outside the city and somehow be sustainable? If you learn to live off the city itself, where the food is produced in the city and next to it, material for buildings and products only taken in or next to the city, then it can be truly sustainable. Cities are just mega consuming hot spots that only exist because its good for economic growth. Cities will slowly disappear either by force or by choice.

a lot of these ideas are just concept-stage and barely scrape the surface. They are being promoted by people who dont really understand the science involved. Some real-world highly useful options include solvent-free paints eg Lakeland Paints - which are solvent-free, VOC-free, Non-toxic and actually edible ! Surely, paint solvent is a tiny concern you might think ?? Not at all - paint emitted 24 MILLION tons of greenhouse-gas solvents into the atmosphere last year and every year (WHO 180 et al) - and these solvents are on average 20-50x worse than CO2. So - if you really want to do something to help counter global warming you could do a lot worse than switch to one of the VOC-Free paints out there.

And these guys are not calculating the state and city subsidies for installation of solar panels. And the electric cars are so ripe? I think not. These NGOs are a bit extreme and not calulating subsidies and tax breaks. By the way, my grandmother old roof is greener than that stadium in Vancouver and it's organic not manmade. Again, Volvo and Scania are getting a lot of tax break from the Nordic governments. Now, while Nordic states maybe "environmentally friendly" - for example, Norwegian economy was built by the Stavenga oil production. Come on, Guys ! What are we high school kids?
