“Worth experimenting with” as someone looking to make a custom instrument case out of hard wood I can’t agree more, being able to test the design before spending 500$ or so on wood certainly is appealing to me

Hi Rick, Speed and feed are provided at about 1:20 in the video. 10,000 rpm, just under 100 ipm feed rate. Paul Woodworkers Guild of America

Nice demonstration and good advice. I've got some great quality up-cut bits and such from Tinker and can't wait to try them out on the pink foam. I do a lot of wood 3D, and clay modeling/casting, so this gave me a bit of inspiration to try to venture into a new realm. I suppose the layer of each cut is relatively small compared to how you could on wood?

What is that product for coating foam to make it look smooth? Thanks
@Wwgoa6 жыл бұрын
Hello, There’s a specific coating for foam that I use on CNC projects, but it doesn’t make it look smooth. It makes it look almost like stucco. You can see it here amzn.to/2nIqut8 Thanks, George Wood Workers Guild of America Video Membership

It is XPS. It's a building foam from Home Depot. Hope that helps!

@@Wwgoa certainly does. Thank you!! We’ll give it a try. Just a bit worried about tearing - but we’ll see what occurs. Thanks again.

You can cut out in foam and then lay on fibreglass to create a mould.
@chaitanyamehta87863 жыл бұрын
would you by any chance have more information or references on this? I am planning to create a fiberglass mould out of a CNC cut foam and I am running into a few challenges

@@chaitanyamehta8786 Easy Composites Ltd youtube channel is fantastic. They also sell kits for wet laying parts. If you are in the states, Fiberglast has full kits to get started.

Hello, I want to prototype an electric powered surfboard hull 72''x30'' on a bigger shopbot cnc router is it possible?
@Wwgoa6 жыл бұрын
Hello, CNC routers are commonly used for prototyping so yes, you should be able to prototype a surfboard on a CNC machine. Hope this helps, George WoodWorkers Guild of America Video Membership
