It makes perfect sense, him and Kimmel are buddies, so Kimmel wouldn't mind, but with Fallon, there's the Tonight Show beef between Jay Leno and Conan, it would seem like Conan hasn't moved past it and is still resentful if he chose Fallon to kill...that was the most pc and sensible answer, and Conan is a wise man.

Fallon is a pretty nice guy when he's not hosting :)) You can see in his personality he's friendly and fun when he's interacting with friends or in a more casual setting. So I think from what Conan knows of him off screen he knows Fallon would be a "good date" ie just nice to be around. Plus Killing Kimmel is a fun joke he knows Kimmel would be in on.

I like Conan, but I think he should be mad at NBC and not Leno. I feel like they both got a raw deal from NBC. NBC decided that Jay Leno was too old, so they decided to push him out even though he was #1 and Conan just wasn't popular as the host of the Tonight Show. If jay Leno lobbied behind the scenes to oust Conan, then I can see why he is angry, but if that didn't happen, then place the blame on NBC, which is notoriously bad at handling on air talent.
