The drone footage was pretty awesome mate, especially at 22:56. Glad to see that you're getting good at self recoveries. All you need now is lockers and you can tackle some gnarly stuff. Really enjoying the vids guys.

Thank you heaps for the support!! Yeah definitely getting a hang of recoveries and lockers will make a world of difference which we hope to get one day haha!!

I haven't done Stockton yet, Hopefully early next year. I have walked Shark Hole & the bunkers a few times though and there are signs and warnings of Trail Cameras. The only road there we are allowed to drive on is Mine Camp Road heading in, the rest is National Park and we are not meant to have 4wds or bikes in there even if gates are open. They are generally only open because people have done the wrong thing and forced them open. It is a stunning area though and as much as I wouldn't mind driving it, I wont be risking the fines and I've heard plenty about them in local groups, I know a couple of people personally that have received them.

Yeah highly recommend stockton! And when you did shark hole did you go down the ladder and into it? If so was it worth it, I was very tempted to check it out. Yeah another bloke mentioned that there have been people mentioning cameras, we didn't have much idea of where you were and weren't allowed to go, it wasn't very clear being the first time going there, it was a nice drive around and 4wding but yeah just not worth it if there's cameras!

@offroadtouring Shark Hole, there is another way to walk into there without worrying about the ladder. I have been down there and it's a beautiful spot, on my video a mate went down because my joggers didn't have a lot of rubber on them and I would have gone over. I have been down since. Being a local I've heard loads of reports so that's why I've never driven in.

@@OnCountryWithMick ahh yeah thats good to know and it would be interesting going down! And yeah thays fair enough!

@@offroadtouring Yeah its nice down there. There are rod holders cemented into the rocks as well. That ladder though, that's all sorts of NOPE from me lmfao.

@@OnCountryWithMick ahh damn thats cool someone's put rod holders down there! And yeah that ladder was very sketchy with one of the bolts very loose hahaha

Remember to buy the beach access pass from the petrol station on the corner.

Yeah indeed, that's where we got ours, the one across from maccas? Had no idea at first but googled it and realised!

@@offroadtouring not sure why you drove all the way down to lavis lane, then back up to birubi point where the northern access is? Also, if your car is gutless now, if you throw lockers in it will be worse trying to drive all four wheels….
@offroadtouringАй бұрын
Well after just looking up a little about stockton, people just say best entry is via lavis, and it doesn't bother us heading for a drive! But when the wheel are just spinning, we wouldve had a better chance with lockers, gutless or not, plus just having them in genral!

Were you in low range in that really soft sand area? That would help if you have it!! I love your travels!!

Oops you say low range later.....

No drones because the RAAF base/ Newcastle airport is next to it.

Did you happen to see any signs around the Catho area (where you wear driving near the radar stations and cliffs)? Heard of people getting fines in the mail from cameras there in the bush…
@offroadtouringАй бұрын
Hey Paul, nah we didn't for where we drove through! However we pulled up to the north end of the shark hole walking track and there was a sign saying past that point but the rest of it had all gates open and no signals when we were there and where we drove! So hopefully we don't see any fines show up in the mail but that's good to know!

People mentioned fines to me about driving through the old train tunnels at Stockrington too a few years ago but it never happened. Damn I’m impressed you got in around Mine Camp road. I must have to go and have a look myself and bring a spare wheel cover to cover my rear plate. $65 to access a beach for a day? That’s insanely greedy of our gov!! I think we all need to get together as a collective of four-wheel-drive enthusiasts and push back on our government bloody grubs they are!!. I didn’t know you can’t use a drone at Stockton. So much tyranny involved with that beach now. Was looking forward to going over there with the family this year and maybe flying a drone around for a few minutes. I guess I won’t be buying a permit for that beach this year then I will just go around the corner to samurai. Very nice video mate. Very down to earth people you are. Not doing anything crazy out there on the tracks which I like Looks a bit crazy going up towards that bunker but I think I could probably handle it ha ha ha ha. I did go out there a few years ago and I put out an awning on one of the tracks overlooking Catherine Hill Bay. The track into where I want was a bit gnarly
@Paul4x4BАй бұрын
@ it’s not the government in charge of this beach, it’s a group called Belmont wetlands state park…and it’s $40 a week (still a ripoff…)

@steveelliott7893 thanks heaps for the support mate! We truly appreciate it! Good no fines came through! And yeah that whole mine camp area was awesome exploring! Yeah well any price on the beach permit suck especially when you already pay for most park accesses. For stockton it's not too bad permit wise but yeah samurai is right nearby! And again thanks for the comment and support!!
