WWII Radarman Ray Woods - USS OBrien - Legion of Honor - Omaha Beach - D-Day Conneaut 2014

On the 23rd of August 2014, Radarman 2nd Class Raymond P. Woods of the United States Navy was awarded the French Legion d'honneur, the Republic of France' highest honor. The presentation of the decree was exercised at the 2014 D-Day Conneaut event held in Conneaut Ohio. Mr. Woods chronicles his life in service through his personal memoir, D-Day Hero Destroyer Identified After 68 Year Search. As WWII Veteran Liaison for the Ohio event, it is my honor to present this great moment.
