As good as Chesty! They were young men of iron and love of God in that generation. I was born in WWII and hate seeing them leave us in these passing days. This was the generation of father's to my generation. God bless them all, cause I fear we'll never see their likes again!

@Alien waiting for you weebs to storm area 51 I am so sorry to hear about your Grandpa, but it will be you with the sadness and pain, he will be in his own world and you will be left in yours. I always found that watching my Mothers eyes and her face would tell me when her memory allowed her to recognize her only son. For those moments I was eternally grateful it helped me cope with the countless days when she would stare at my face often struggling to remember who I was. She was robbed of the ability to love her Children until the end and we were robbed of her Maternal Lifelong Bond when this cruel disease rendered her unable to know who we were. I wish Grandpa and your Family the loving connection for as long as you can.

That last song is burned into my memory. “March along, song our song, we’re the army of the free. Count the brave, count the true, who have fought to victory. We’re the army and proud of our name, we’re the army and proudly proclaim. First to fight for the right, and to build the nations might. And the army goes rolling along. Proud of all we have done, fighting till the battle’s won. And the army goes rolling along. And it’s high, high, hey! The army’s on its way. Sound off the cadence loud and strong. @Hate Is Love I wouldn’t consider Heroshima and Nagasaki war crimes seeing as we were preventing further civilian and non-civilian casualties The reason why they did so much damage is that the Japanese government would not let people evacuate and would not surrender even after we dropped pamphlets in Japanese telling them to leave immediately. Even after we dropped Little Boy, we had to drop one more bomb to get them to surrender, therefore, ending the war. What I’m saying is, it was more Japan’s fault for the amount of casualties than it was for the U.S

As a current serving member in the Australian ADF i concur with your sentiment especially with the strong ties between Australia and the USA regarding troops and support. I've worked with the MRF-D 19 arguably the best of the rest here in the Northern Territory as they are stationed in Darwin and your have some fine soldiers same for the UK Canada Nz ect. Cheers...

Those smiles, those men should be so proud of themselves, honoring one of their own. He came alive because of their talent.

What an amazing gift for your dad to hear the music he served so long for and to see the light in his eyes as he listens to the young Marines play for him. Your dad is so handsome and deserves to have happy memories to remember.

This man served 26 years in the service fighting for our country's safety and freedom. Thank you sir, for your service. It was so loving for his daughter to ask the Army band to play, and it was so wonderful they came out and played for another veteran.

THis is the most inspirational thing I've seen in a while. You can see the light come back into his eyes and face. This is a gift to him that will last. God bless LTC Bell and the Soldiers in the Band.

Even as a millenial... Just HEARING these guys play evokes images of what life was like back in the days of WWII, Korea, Vietnam, etc. But that rendition of America the Beautiful.....who the hell is cutting onions in here?!
