I interview the Officer that owns and restored the vehicle.
I owned is an WW2 re enactor and also a military veteran that served in West Germany along the walled border with the Soviet Union.

I suspect that WWII reenactors would be much more acceptable, or palatable by the public if they all did not portray the Waffen SS, who is known by all as the ones that committed the majority of the war crimes. I suppose it is wanting to be the bad boy thing with them.

I can’t speak for them personally I know they have trouble getting non Allies soldiers and most guys can do both sides so some just go where they are needed.
