Travel back in time a bit as we get to learn about Kimbel’s VW roots and hear about his first car. Get some up close views of his 1944 VW Kubelwagen and see the ingenuity this vehicle boasts. The actual logic behind the Notek "Nachtmarschgerät" is that if you see the green lights as only one light, you are too far, if you see all four lights, you are too close, when you see the lights as two, your distance from the vehicle ahead of you is correct!

@4:45 In 1981 l joined the Volkswagen Club of Victoria as a 22 year old Architect......all the letters around that time and for a couple of years that came to the Secretary, were passed onto me coz l was the only one collecting _'those Old VWs'_

Very cool! I grew up on weekends at the air museum. The air show days were the best! Us kids got to fly in the planes after the air show. So many memories there!

Actually that little green can with the tap is for ether. You would use it for cold weather starting, then switch to petrol (gas).
