Hey Joe, I like your videos, I'm a beginner fisherman on Oahu. Could you make a video on a set up for catching halalu? Summer is the best time to get a nice papio on Oahu but I need to learn how to catch the bait first, thank you for you time .

Thanx for posting. Didn't realize you backed your 50lb with only 20lb...that makes that 100#er even more of a feat. If you had a good full cast and get hit right after, you are then basically playing the fish on 20lb then. That is really something.
@JOEOLIVASWWJ9 жыл бұрын
mrtoady2 I figure need more line in a small reel so 20# was ok,,since need the 50# up front..a bit more line than casting distance so 125..I figure I got about 225 yards..in the spool..he took about 175 on the first run and I tried to put pressure..luckily I did at that time and not later..he would have spooled me than..

Hey Joe, Makes total sense on the smaller tackle! Great point! What size hook you running most times? Look like a #3? Barbed or barb less? Mahalos!

Hi Joe, Thank you for replying! Sorry, I just wanted to ask again, you are using the swivel to connect main line to leader? You prefer not to join line to leader with knots?
@JOEOLIVASWWJ6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking...WWJ whipping with joe fishing simplified. I sport a 1 rod Fenwick HMG MHFS 7ft and a 1 reel spheros 6ksw combo for ALL my fishing needs 4 lures for Big game, my WWJ GT slayers which has given me 42 BIG strikes, landed 21, lost 21, 13 of them lost my first year 2012. 4 lures for small game n seaweed I use a swivel so I can go BIG game 80# leader n small game with 8# leader. To use a knot you need another setup..which cost you more $..More gear n cant move on the rocks..Check my channel for a lot of info.

Black lures only good for white water whipping?? Or can this work on a calm day
@JOEOLIVASWWJ6 жыл бұрын
Thks for watching..I prefer white water but it does work on calm waters..the Action is what's important..to entice the fish to strike..good luck..
