Fantastic review. So much depth, eloquently conveyed. I've got one on the way and can't wait to dive into it.

Killer video Mark - I just got one - this deep dive is so useful in helping get at the nuances of the pedal.

The absolute best and 100% useful review on a pedal of any kind I have ever experienced. Well done ...take a bow!!! I felt that my music could be enhanced by this pedal . With other manufacturers pedals I felt their effect was demanding me to fulfill a commission to write music for it. Or to be blunt it was demanding I accept that the tale would wagging the dog.

Love the deep dive aspect! I dont know of another demo channel that does this. Definitely helps us viewers make more educated purchases by understanding the pedal and hearing it's full capabilities instead of just some short snippets of its core examples. Thank u for doing this! I can understand people not having the attention span to watch an hour and a half long video, but they can watch it in segments if they need. 😊

Hey the long format isn’t for everyone but it is for someone.

Love this thing, between it and the Mercury7 I've not really bothered looking at other reverbs for a while. Killed it as usual and gave me some new stuff to try out with it!

Outstanding review. I planned to upgrade my RV-6 to a Strymon Blue Sky 2, but this reverb's sound fits my style better. Thanks...

I've had this pedal a few months and really loving it, but decided to give this video a watch just to see how somebody else might use it and found new ways to use it and features I was unaware of. Appreciate all the effort that goes into these! I would love it if Red Panda came out with a delay in this ilk of a more standard delay, but with like tape, analog, bbd, etc.,. options. I'm too much of a meat and potatoes simpleton person and the raster and those seem like a bit overkill for my needs, but this form factor and their sounds are just so great. I started using the preset manager/web editor and it's a lot of fun as well. I usually hate secondary controls as it's a bit of a pain in the ass to manage, but love how Red Panda set this one up and with it being labeled in the other color for most of them.

I’m absolutely in love with that shell pink guitar, man. That thing is so gorgeous, and sounds to die for. That’s going to be the unachievable love of my life 😂

Hey Mark - love the vids! Currently looking to pickup a verb pedal for my board. Thinking Big Sky, Illumine or Context 2. Know them all well and leaning towards Illumine. Style is somewhere between Marr; Arctic Monkeys and shoegaze - what do you think? Maybe the Context2 instead?

I have this pedal for couple of years and Im still watching all the videos about it, to find new way to use it. I cant exactly find use for Spring here, sounds too artifical for me. And Im yet to wrap my head around the secondary functions under Low and High settings (the ducking/expanse and threshold settings).

Mark, you really have to put out a collection of your pedal demo intros. It always sounds so great. 🙏 Beautiful sounds from the Context reverb. Nevertheless I wait for getting my last reverb until Meris comes along with a LVX analogy of the Mercury7. 😂

Haha hey they’re… mostly, kind of, on patreon. I need to do another dump of songs.

The cathedral is such a legendary reverb. I use the Amplitude X-Space and love it, it does what I want and more. If you never tried it, the best sounds take time to dial. The Cusack Resound V2 is another great reverb, less popular too. Now plate is thebbest part of the Amplitude, it is my favorite plate reverb inhave tried so far. I tried too many, lol.

I love this pedal and Red Panda Labs are great! I bought this soon after it launched and had discovered a bug in the Grain setting. I contacted them with this bug report "With the modulation setting at 2 o’clock or higher, and the modulation rate at 12 o’clock or lower, switching to the Grain mode results in a high pitch whine/tone “feedback” that lasts anywhere from a split second to a few seconds. The slower the rate, the longer the high pitch tone lasts and the louder it increases in volume. Turning the rate towards 12 o’clock results in a shorter, thus quieter tone. This is independent of any delay settings and the hi/lo controls had been untouched. All other controls appear to have no effect on this." and about a week later they emailed me a firmware patch that fixed it.

Seeing how well they’ve supporting this past launch has been very encouraging. Red Panda is a great brand and I’m a big fan of the work they’ve been doing.

Sounds really nice, but I think my Skylar reverb with the Spatium or Plate, sounds even more beautiful and is just enough for me. Nevertheless Red Panda is one of my absolute favorite pedal providers.

Hi Mark, great intro as usual. I can´t get enough of this one and from the Delta ll intro especially. Is there any chance of putting another EP together on patreon till the end of this year? I really enjoyed everything you put out there and I still do!!!

I’ve been wanting an ambient verb. I’m narrowing down to Skyler, Specular Tempus, and the Context. For live application, which do you think offers better user interface for changes and slight adjustment?
@markjohnstonofficial Жыл бұрын
Skyler is only two presets and no midi. Spec Tempus is incredible and has a ton of reverb and delay modes. Honestly between the context and spec temp it’ll just come down to personal preference.

When the box is making most of the sound, and not the instrument/player....you'd better be in a band so at least there is shared culpability
