David Fite appeared in the hot seat on January 9-10, 2000 and became the 3rd person to see a $1,000,000 question on the American WWTBAM. What was interesting about his run was that he used a lifeline on his $100 question (like Neil Larrimore - • WWTBAM - Neil Larrimor... ) about Duck Duck Goose. He wouldn't touch another lifeline until his $500,000 question.
Another interesting fact from this run: the very first Fastest Finger contestant that Regis introduced on this show was none other than future millionaire Ed Toutant in the first of three appearances on WWTBAM for Ed (his second appearance would be a year later).
This is part 3 of David's run from his $64,000 question to his $500,000 question. There was some extra editing done just to get this under the video length limit. Also of note, when Regis shows David the different checks that he's earned in the upper tier of questions, the $32,000 and $64,000 checks have his name as "Dave Fite" and the date as 1/9/00 when it was really 1/10/00.

for real. they literally put 'speed of light' as the C option too, as if they couldn't make it more obvious.

Fun Fact: In 2020, Lauren Lapkus's $64K Question is the same question as David Fite's $125K Question.

Hey I never knew the answer to David's $64,000 question partly because I haven't looked up California on Wikipedia in a long time!

How are they eaiser than the $125k question bruh? I thought 4 states border Cali (I was sure either Utah or Colorado borders Cali). Meanwhile everyone who has taken any physics course (and even many of those who haven’t) know that c represents the speed of light.

And to say the $250k question is common knowledge is blatantly incorrect, simple as that. Good for you if you know it. Doesn’t mean everyone else does.

It was pretty funny when Regis pronounced Pythagoras’ name incorrectly and David helped him pronounce it correctly. Later on, Regis angrily shouted, “ALL RIGHT!” but joked and grinned in front of the camera. 😂

also a million is considerable less today than it was in 1999; it's maybe $300,000 worth in 1999 dollars at best.

And now in 2020, $1,000,000 in 1999 is equivalent to $1,550,000.

the episodes with regis are the best because a lot of the contestants get past 64,000 and go pretty far whereas the episodes with meradith suk because its just a bunch of idiots who dont get too far and there are only like 5 people that go far

I don't think it was that the contestants were idiots but more so that the syndicated version had much tougher questions
