And it's not that hard either, much easier than being GM at chess. Polygraph is notorious in producing both false positive and false negative in large numbers and also highly manipulative by the examiner. The APA has very skeptical language warning about polygraphs being used for anything, and polygraph results are not admissible in most courts. Magnus is good at poker, and a good poker player should be able to consistently beat the polygraph with just a little bit training.
@TitaniumTurbine7 ай бұрын
@@zxbc1 100% on the first part and mostly on the last part. A good poker player must be able to control their voice/tone, words, movements, gestures, show of breathing, and expressions - everything that is of face value. With a polygraph exam, more subconscious tells are introduced such as micro tics/twitches, heart rate, breathing rate, etc… things that can be harder for some to hide even with training/practice. Polygraphs are notoriously erroneous (as you stated), but unless you have one to practice with and even then… you might not be able to discover all your tells.

Lie Detector tests are fun for entertainment value, but I do like that this video shows why you can't really take them seriously in real world issues. So many times Magnus looked genuinely confused something was flagged as a lie 😂

In Asian countries it's outright illegal to use a lie detector test period. In the US lie detectors can be used for trial court if both parties consent, the one in the video is a low effort lie detector There are ones monitor brain waves those are somewhat effective but in reality yeah nobody takes those. If a detective or police asks you to take one you can just outright deny it and probably should (but even if it reaches court the judge be like :- ok this is cool and all but uhhh next evidence please)

"It's more or less that he doesn't really care" has to be the best way to describe Magnus Carlsen.

I love the fact that they don't use John Grogan as the polygraph examiner. Nearly every KZbinr uses John and he's already outed himself as being a fake. He'll change his answers for content. So I'm glad these guys are able to make genuine content

No lie detector is genuine. The "technology" is not accurate.

i watched this video 2 hours ago and it was at 167k views. Now it’s at 209,600. Only 8 hours after its inception. The chess channel has only 1.74 million subscribers. Magnus is such an asset. Within 3 days it will be 1M+
