At 1:29:28 Blade was talking about zugzwang, not stalemate like Striker pointed out. A zugzwang is when you are put in a worse position because you have to make a move. He's saying that they might be worse off, at least at start maybe, if they would have to fit s1mple in the roster.
@jackoberto016 ай бұрын
Yeah imagine letting s1mple leave for another team because you don't want to disrupt the team that could turn out to be the worst mistake ever should he come back to top 5 form
@MrSvedous6 ай бұрын
That must be the term he was referring to, but when he says you can't make any more moves, that would be a stalemate. I think we got the point :D

Extremely insightful, if understandably measured, answers from B1ad3. Great episode. Appreciate his answers around the iM perspective online vs what Navi are aiming to build. He clearly believes iM will grow and have a higher ceiling than what we have seen recently. This was a great hype video for ESL particularly with electroNic's virtus debut and Navi post major showing. Additionally I appreciate the stand being stated, "winning a major cannot be a fluke" as I hate the way the CS community throws this around to deflate an achievement of a given team. In all competition sometimes a bounce can go your way and an opponent can make a boneheaded mistake or throw a key round. This is why competition is so exciting as it is a combo of imperfect humans competing. There can be some variance but the preparation, mental fortitude, team dynamics, and skill it takes to get through a whole major and come out on top is massive.

To be honest Blad3 could've provided so much insight if only his English was better than what it is now. He clearly to this day has very limited vocabulary and I can always see that he's trying to explain something but he's getting lost in his own words due to lack of vocabulary and being unable to construct sentences correctly which prevents him from being able to express himself the way he wants and so most people would miss out on what he's trying to say.
