Spend tax payers money on protecting those tax payers by providing top quality fire fighting and medical services. Surely the choice is a very easy one.

This is a shame, age has nothing to do with why there is no heat. My fire station is 125+ years old and we never have problems with heat air or anything like that. We are volunteer so we don’t get money from taxpayers meaning we have less funding than big departments like Detroit.

Simple fix. Since burn was put out awareness was started. This for commissioner is a joke. Don’t put men in abandoned-buildings. Primary search and out. Don’t even put water on it unless exposed buildings. Let it go. Get out the current mayor. If it where not for that maybe business would return .

@@anthonythorp7291 Oh, absolutely. It was even worse than the "no power" story. I was a firefighter in a city near Detroit, and around that time I went to Eastern Market in Detroit one day and one of their pumpers was parked there. The engineer was in the truck while the officer was doing business inspections. I asked the engineer if things were getting any better for them, and he told me to go to the back of the truck and look under the tarp on the hose bed. There was not a single length of hose on that pumper -- the city claimed they had no money for hose -- and the engineer told me that the city demanded that the truck be kept in service. They would rather have had a useless truck "in service" than have a station shut down which would look bad to the public. I suggested the papers should be told about it, and he said I was free to try, but others already had with zero results. You're right that it never should've been that way, but, like I said, things are much better now, at least for the Fire Dept.
@brianwest81194 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, ever since the 60s, things have steadily gone downhill in Detroit. Police getting their employment terminated. Buildings being so old that being maintained is a task on its own. Money being hogged by the super rich while the poor are just barely getting by.
