I'm half Cuban and used to hear Celia Cruz blasting on my mom's record player. My parents got to meet her once. My dad who's Italian told her he did not like Spanish music but loved her music. She replied "that's because you know what's good!" May she rest in peace.

And I'm listening to it again while missing my Cuban aunts and uncles who used to play dominoes in the garage on a hot summer day in NY. The kids would be in the pool. Adults in the back sunroom while the old peeps played dominoes. Went back to my aunt's house recently and saw the garage and broke down. Memories of the best past. Cubans are an awesome and family oriented breed.
