Chef Wylie Dufresne joins David Chang and Chris Ying to make his holiday recipe for Parisian gnocchi...but with a couple of twists along the way! We show his original recipe step-by-step, then take it in some interesting directions: Dave tries a Japanese fusion, Chris does a Beijing-inspired version, and Wylie takes his own recipe and makes it into PIZZA!

Made the gnocchi recipe tonight. The flavor was very good, but I struggled mightily with the preparation. The dough came out of the mixer sticky to the point that it was almost impossible to work with. Maybe one too many eggs?

The OG recipe isn't gnocchi. That's pate choux. It's a cheese puff.

I thought I understood the difference between gnocchi and spaetzle -- now, not so much? Gnocchi with no potato? Gnocchi with eggs? Gnocchi pressed out of a pastry bag and cut off? P.S. Wylie not only does not wear shoes in the kitchen? Maybe no pants (22:31, US definition -- not UK, lol) as well?

Leave it to the French to make a dish "their own" by cooking (essentially) gnocchi alla Romana like potato gnocchi 😂

But for the french "Gnocchis à la Parisienne" is a slighty different recipe, served in a Béchamel sauce like a grattin (which I'm sure is not far from some Italian recipe either).

@@Keukeu45 it was jokes mostly. I just found it amusing for all the competition that goes on between the two cuisines. Personally I'm not a stickler, I'll try almost anything once. If it works, it works
