Old electrician's trick, if people don't have a saw available, a piece of nylon twine used with some gloves can cut 4"-6" schedule 80 with low difficulties. This plumber's PVC should be easy.

Also something of note, when you say that the curved surface is an issue when adding grebel. To solve this, take a pipe, wrap it in sand paper around 1000 grit or higher and take the object you want to add to the pipe and sand it back and forth on the pipe with the sand paper on it to wear it down to the proper shape. *If you think its going to take too long you can start with a Dremel. * If you are wondering ive been a hobby nut for models since the 90s and have made a lot of scratch built stuff like plastic card space ships and model kit bashes of warships/tanks for sci fi props for BattleTech and Star Wars/sci fi games for a long time.

A visit to any Habitat for Humanity Restore in your area or a similar resale shop for home improvement can often net you odd lengths of pvc pipe for pennies on the dollar. I've found bags of the connectors there as well. Any sander - disc, belt, or spindle - will make short work of the manufacturer's marks on the connectors, too. Even a handheld random orbital sander or a Dremel type sanding tool.

If you want to replicate the 'new' GW pipes, hardware stores have Watering Sprinkler Risers. These are ribbed rubber connectors you can insert into your pipes to make them "plasma" conduits. Obviously paint them with OSL or burnt copper effects if inactive. As for "more detail" i'm adding plastic strips laterally and longitudinally, and experimenting with drops of thick/ gel super glue set with Baking Powder for Rivets.

Usually when I watch one of your crafting videos I think "Man, he makes it look so easy" and I think how much harder it would be for me to make. But seeing this video I honestly think I could get similar results 'cause it really is as easy as it looks. I'm definitely adding "industrial piping" close to the top of the list of need-to-make terrain, 'cause they aren't hard to make and they look so good.

2 ways to do some quick and dirty details for your pipe set: Least involved: Take some cotton swabs, cut off the ends and cut the stick into small bolts. If it has a hole inside, just put a dap of superglue on top, it will give it a light rounded head, looking like bolts. Or a more involved way: Take something like Instamold / Oyumaru and get a Torx bit set. Press the torx bit into the flexible Instamold and then let it harden. Once its hardened you can push in a dab of epoxy putty (greenstuff) into it to get screw on bolts. (Technically you don't need instamold, using wax and slightly warming the wax to have it come off the epoxy bits once its hardened would work to for a low cost method)

Good point on the modular pipe - I find that when people go a bit nuts with modular things like magnetising every bit of sector mechanicus you end up spending an hour just building the board, nevermind playing! Also it means you cant ever do any storytelling on a piece of terrain as it has to all come apart and fit with anything. The one thing that could work though is semi-modular, so like a few building corner 'fit' when butted up to each other to make a full ruin. Or say with these pipe layouts you could plug a few into a couple of others to create a bigger network for when you felt like it.

You're on the right track. Just grab a piece of thin platic or a piece of paper. Wrap the tube with it, and hold it with your gloved hand. easy mask with no tape. If you use a just piece of folded copy paper or newspaper you're good. Magazine paper or glossy stuff works well for quick masking. You can get good effects with a magazine and a rattle can.

With PVC you don't really need the hot glue, you can push them on and they will stay connected and eat to pull apart if needed. I use 1/2" PVC as a spool holder for my 5kg spools for 3D printing, no glue at all and works great.
