Ian Stewart gave me and my mates a lift in his van [a Commer cob] C1965 after Stones appearance at Nelson Imperial Ballroom, [acted as Roadie at that time] a Gent to Stop for me and the Lads. so late that nite//// RIP Ian. you deserve more Credit, you are a Star.//

If there had been no Ian Stewart, there would have been no Rolling Stones. It's that simple. That's not MY opinion. That's what Keith Richards wrote in his biography. And I think Keith Richards knew a bit about the subject.

That would mean it was recorded in 1983 (Wyman born 1936). It would have to be before 1985, because that's the year in which Stu passed. The style of this recording is more rockabilly than rock, ie the house style of Wyman's Rhythm Kings.

Isn't Bill great? Read about Alexis Korner sometime and be amazed. His influence and contribution to so many in British rock is incredible and yet unknown. How about Stu? Does anyone know of anywhere else that you can see this master of boogie woogie play like this? You checked out way to soon Stu.

He sang ‘ In Another Land’ on Their Satanic Majesties Request in 67 and had two solo albums ‘Stone Alone ‘ and ‘Monkey Grip’ he hasn’t got a great voice but come on it’s Rock n Roll not gospel or opera. And he doesn’t care. Nor do I.

I’ll never understand how dear old Bill Wyman could make a great living for decades, doing something that others might kill for, and yet never exhibit the slightest bit of emotion, fire, enthusiasm, or physical groove whilst doing it. Bill: WTF is wrong with you sir?
@johngore77443 жыл бұрын
It’s all part of the Stones (Andrew Oldham) original , completely opposite to the Beatles image of not cuddly , not caring to be liked and somewhat dangerous. They all were like that except Charlie did it passively and dressed well. Lol

In sense thats true, he's not a great Singer, but then again he's never ever claimed to be. He was always a committed Bassist, thats his Forte. And I guess many 70 Year olds envy how he looks today.

Bill writes in one of his books that Keith has no singing voice, and it was wrong that Keith became the backup Singer. Did Bill ever hear himself? 🤔
@danieladias9853 жыл бұрын
I don't think either Bill or Keith has a good voice to sing 🤣🤣 But that's ok, they're both great with their respective instruments. You can't even be excellent at everything.
@Methilde2 жыл бұрын
Keith is a great backing voice, much better than Bill here.
@curien100017 жыл бұрын
Hell the reason Ian Stewart was officially not in the band (although he toured and recorded with them as the unofficial keyboard player) was because he didn't "look good enough." Even in this clip he gets very little face-time (you see a lot of his hands though - like the Stones, they couldn't deny his talent)
@thefamilycat17 жыл бұрын
The albums Wyman made were not very good as he seemed to become a singer songwriter.He needs to stick to covers. You can also see why Jagger was the Stones singer!
@danieladias9853 жыл бұрын
I agree. For these and others we see why the Stones lead singer is Mick Jagger and not Wyman, Richards, Ronnie. None of these three sings well.
