in 1993/94, I was in the painful process of divorcing a woman I did not want to say goodbye to. This song was one of the most popular on the radio and it basically became my anthem. Our oldest son was married a few months ago and after not seeing her for almost 6 years I can honestly say it is not over yet. I still get a lump in my throat when I think of her and have yet to find anyone who moved me as she did.

Same here. Every time I hear this song it reminds of the moment when I knew my first marriage was coming to an end. I had just dropped my wife off in North Carolina. She was starting a new job there and the plan was for me to join her in a few months. However, things had been bad for a while and I knew as I pulled away that it was never going to work out. Just started crying my eyes out right there in the driveway. Every time I hear this song it brings me right back to that moment. It's been many years, and thankfully I found a good woman and moved on with my life (though it took some time). Still, this song gets to me.

I played this song over & over in my car, volume loud as loud as it would go as I tried to drown out the pain. Those were difficult days. It’s a rare gift when words and music can evoke such emotion as the memories from long ago come rushing back to the present. You remember what it was to be in that moment, heart aching, hurt and alone. I suspect I’m not the only one who feels this way about this song and Wy’s music. It was Wy’s first solo album that got me through that awful time. I survived my divorce and learned how to be stronger because of it.
