This song besides being incredibly deep and emotional is also a showcase for Wynona's voice. She hits every high and low with a richness and beautiful tone.

It was this song that caused me to cross the line and become a full-fledged country music lover. Now, several decades later, I hear this song and it still sings to my soul. I've been fortunate enough to hear it live 3 times.

I have also heard it live. Never gets old. Always absolutely stunning. This is one of those songs that sings to soul, as you said, and heart and mind and emotions. Beautiful.

Same. This song also convinced me to marry my own Billy. I fell for all kinds but I always knew I was his only need. This song helped me see what was real and true. Never been happier.

I confess I didn't have an opinion about the Judds; I wasn't really into country music. Then one day I heard this song and I was blown away by Wynona' s voice, her phrasing and her emotional connection to the song. It remains one of my favourite songs by a female vocalist.

My favorite of all Wynonna songs. It took me listening to it probably 50 times, maybe a week.. to learn it with my guitar. I was determined. One of the best love songs EVER! Ironically, the love of my life, his name is also Billy, and he is the same brave responsible lover, after more than a decade..another musician like me. Thank you Wynonna.

This is awesome and one of my favorites!! I'm so glad you shared it with us. I used to have the old CMA awards show where she sang this for the first time. Her mom was in the audience and kept getting all misty eyed. I would love to see that again.

countrygal0831 hmm, I am pretty sure it was AMAs (American Music Awards) where Naomi was emotional, crying and seemingly wanting to be on stage with her. That was Wynonna’s very first appearance on stage sans Naomi. Amazing song, amazing performance and the bond between the 2 was unparalleled. I tried finding that specific performance (I hv it on VHS) but doesn’t seem to be on here sadly

Wynonna has always looked like her mom and Lisa Marie Presley to me. Just saying. If you told me she was Elvis’s daughter I’d never question it ❤️. Prayers to her and Ashley right now.
Esta canción representa el profundo amor a través del tiempo, en la vida de una pareja. Compre el CD que contenía esta canción allá a principios de los 90 en Cleveland. Y hoy, en 2018, cuando la escucho, me transmite tanto, que no se puede expresar

Nice touch, Keyth D.'s reference to 'crossing the line' (…"over the line"...) to become a country music lover -- but as another music lover, I'd maintain "She Is His Only Need" is as far from "country" as NYC's Lex Ave. subway line is from a backwoods corn liquor still in Mayberry, RFD-- More than three chord changes, replete with intense, complex timing and phrasing … and not one reference to a bottle of beer, a flatbed truck, a hound named "Blue," or a Boy Named "Sue." Think Wy was first to know this song had WORLD'S more going for it than most traditional country. Her awesome interpretation and phenomenal execution of the piece just confirms as much. Must be the Italian in her.
