At the conclusion of David Stern's Memorial Service at Radio City Music Hall, the curtain slowly opened and Wynton Marsalis and his musicians gradually/slowly walked out playing Just a Closer Walk with Thee. I, like the other 3,800 people there didn't know whether to cry or cheer -- so many of us did BOTH. It was the most remarkable event I've witnessed in my 79 year.s. J. Bruce Miller, Louisville, Kentucky.

What a true dixieland jazz band sound. I grew up listening to many N'awlins greats. This is gold.

We were in the 5th row behind the guy with the camera. Beautiful auditorium, very hip international audience..what a band!...and we hung out afterward and talked to some of the musicians. Very friendly, very appreciative, very cool. We'll always remember it. THANKS MILOS!

Lo it is a gala night! With in the lonesome later years a angel throng bewinged in veils and drawned in tears sit in a theater to see a play of hope and fear while the orchestra fitfully plays the music of the spheres :Death of jazz , A Divine Function?.....for rich weirdos.....

michael wilcox like my son said once “this is the good America”. All the rest are politics. And these guys came out of slavery showing their best self. Let’s see what the rest will do.... surely not to vote Trumps.

We were there; a very nice lady behind us, also American, said she knew Charlie Byrd who had a club in D.C.when I was a student there years before. Very nice. The Good Guys win again! We were all good Earthlings there.

Dear Mr. Wynton any chance you wanna follow me some day down Hickory to the graveyard just outside UNT? One Alumni to another? We can do NO if you prefer. Long line of La Fauns there since 1850. I just need a guy that knows what he's playin. See Dr Jack Unzeker UTA School of Music he might be able to bring some friends. But not until one of these days when I don't get out of bed.

You should take your time. If you try to solve quickly, you will fail again and will be put into the further and more serious stalemate. Try to get More supporters or More good firneds who agree with you with your Decent and Sensible deeds, even if you get mad again. You need great patience and wisdom for reformation in any sphere!

Usually New Orleans' jazz starts out slow and then picks up the tempo
@mackwatkins6372 Жыл бұрын
Just a closer walk isn't supposed to be slow in tempo. But it does pick up towards the end.
