Looking to score an elk tag in Wyoming this year? I’ve put together a little video to help you make your decision a bit easier. The first step to going on a western big game hunt is obtaining a tag. Public land elk hunting with a general tag is tough hunting at best. Lots of folks camping at the access trails. Do your home work, go every year and learn as you go. I went gun hunt 3 hunts 4 days each hunt , saw cows, no shooter bulls. Some day I'll go back........

Wyoming non resident wilderness area guide/resident law is BS and would look for another western state to hunt in.

Nice quick video Remi. I have already watched videos from GOHUNT and Randy Newberg and listened to a couple podcasts, but I wanted to see what you had to say. I currently have 2 points for elk in Wyoming and wish I would have started at the same time as I did with deer 🦌 and pronghorn of which both are at 4 points. Speaking of that is what I plan on trying to draw this May 31st for the fall. A rifle tag 🏷️ for both. Probably late Oct and early November.

No state is more convoluted than Montana. I apply in NM, AZ, CO, UT, WY, NV, OR, KS, IA, TX, ID and MT. Montana is the hardest to get your head around and it isn't even close.

I don’t know exactly what you mean by point creep. I’m a newbie, of sorts, to elk hunting, anyway. I have 2 preference points for Wyoming elk. Not sure if I’ll ever be able to make it out there because of my age, but I thought I’d give it a try.

@@CamDee13while I understand your point and certainly sympathize with you, I think your anger is directed at the wrong person. You should take issue with your state government and fish and game. They make the rules that allow out of staters to come in and hunt. I don’t think it makes sense to complain to a guy who is just relaying information that is publicly available. If you think state residents should have priority take it up with those who make the regulations. Also, much of the hunting areas in Wyoming are on federal land so although some people may not be state residents, if they are US citizens they have just as much a right to the resources on that land as you. Just a thought. The hunting industry isn’t going to go away so I think it is important for hunters to voice their opinions to those who make the rules in order to allow god opportunities for all. Personally I hate the points system.

Did you know when Randy Newberg and the Hush crew came here to elk hunt they had and have numerous residents seeing them and getting all excited n telling them all their lifelong honey holes and telling them where they been seeing the biggest bulls? Yeah these people are pretty much handing our elk to them on silver platters just because they are dik riders to famous people! I think its BS they come to our state to film content and make lots of money from their shows from our wildlife and dont have to work as hard to hunt because people just give them info! Make them work for it dont tell them shit!
