Beaver is the preferred bate for marten here in New Brunnswick CANADA . I set all my traps that I can check them from the front seat of my pick up , saves time and energy , How long is your marten season ? we only have 2 weeks .

Hey Gary our marten season is very liberal Nov through the end of March. Unfortunately my job that pays the bills only allows me two week on the marten line. I also run a bobcat and coyote line that takes a large amount of my trapping season

What part of Wyoming are you at North south east or west we want to trap the South Central but didn't know if martain where there

Battle mountain area has a good population of Marten. Every mountain range in Wyoming has them. They are very easy to over trap I only take between 20 and 30 of my line every year. Also put a lot of nesting boxes up to help them out.
