Hey LifeHackster just found your channel and wanted to thank you so much for your help! I just ordered my floodlight pro and was concerned about having to hire a electrician. Although, it wouldn't have been a problem, but I would like to have mine installed as quickly as possible as there was a serious event that happened in front of my house. But, unfortunately, it was difficult to capture better details of the subject because of the poor lighting in my neighborhood. I hope this floodlight can help shine some light and illuminate well enough for the front of my home. Thank you!

True. I know about the plug in option for their E340. I haven't seen one yet and it will just be a power cable. Hopefully, they will add this type of accessory soon.

Great overview and tips as always! Thanks. Do you know if it’s possible to separate the wires from the mount assembly so that I can use an indoor outlet. I have a hole for cable that I might be able make a bit bigger. I could thread the wires from inside then reattach to the mount assembly.

I think one argument against ppl who say that wires can be cut/disconnected is that even if you have a wireless system, if someone wanted to wreck the camera, they will have thought of a different way to do so already (wireless or not). An argument can be made that “well, I can just throw rocks” at your wireless camera, or get an airsoft gun. Nice vid, LH. Been thinking of moving on from GOOGLE/NEST

No ground needed. Wyze floodlight cameras has no metal parts on it to be needing ground.

I have the V1 of the floodlight cam and overall it works well. My only issue was how the floodlight works. Its either motion active or you can turn it on in the app. Thats all and good but I was hoping when I got it was able to turn it on via Alexa or Google or integrate with the rest of my smart home tech and turn it on through a smart switch. I can do that with my Ring floods. I reached out in the Wyze forums and got nothing back from the developers. I was on board with wyze when they first came out, but now I'm phasing a lot of them out.

Wyze use to be so good but now their app is so buggy and has alot of disconnection issues. Also they are not giving enough options without subscription.

If I don't have a junction box, then I certainly don't have an outlet. But having a plug in floodlight makes it easy for a criminal cut open that "plastic" locking outlet box.

I kind of felt the same way a while back but things are getting better I've looked at other systems and wyze does so much I'm slowly updating to the V4 from the V3 the V4 is a much better camera I have over 20 cameras and everything has been working flawlessly even the OG camera is very impressive for 20 bucks I mean I have found it on Walmart for $14 and bought a couple the OG has a great picture and amazing night vision the detection isn't as far as V3 or V4 but that's okay I put it in certain spots that I don't need a lot of distance I love the 24/7 recording and the cameras are small and don't attract attention. I have a few ring cameras but nighttime viewing sucks I'll keep my wyze .

There is no perfect security camera system out there. After I tried many popular brands currently available I decided Wyze meets my need and is the best option for me. I recommend Wyze for most users. Reolink for business or someone who wants has the option for PoE. Worst of them all in my experience is Arlo. Eufy was gonna be my second best option after Wyze

@@naredes arlo blows for sure. I love my wyze I even use it in my car as a dash cam with a 20,000 mah battery pack it will run it all day even when I shut the car off and go into a gas station or a restaurant even without Wi-Fi it'll still record.

Wyze is horrible. I bought 2 new V4 2 months ago, and their light doesn’t work. They don’t have customer service. The only solution they offer is format the camera. If you do not pay the subscription you can’t review anything, it just take pictures, even if you put your own sd card. I would recommend other options.

They sent me a brand new cam when mine stopped working after all basic TS, crazy thing is it started working again later turns out it was just a bad cord. Their customer service is actually good just takes a minute and takes some patience.
