The bottom is hot metal because it acts as a heatsink for the chips on the board. So if its hot but not molten lava and the rest of the box ain't on fire, its working properly (if unpleasantly).

Amazing review as always. The details covered in your reviews are outstanding. Can you do a comparison video between Asus XT9 and Deco X95? Both are upper mid range routers and more affordable than both Deco XE200 and Asus XT12/ET12. There ain’t many reviews for both these routers, though one review has found significantly faster speeds with Deco X95 compared to X90 (and XE75) while XT9 has theoretical improvements over XT8

Thanks! I just finished testing the XT9, video should be out by next week. However, I haven't played with the Deco X95, I don't know if I will get to that one. I can say however the XT9 has amazing wireless backhaul performance.

Nice review! Will you be doing a head to head between the Wyze 6E Pro with the eero 6R Pro? Also, the ideal mesh router is one that comes with either two 2.5Gbps ports or better, a 10Gbps and a 2.5Gbps port. Is the Asus Zen 6E the cheapest out there today?
@landpet
@landpet Жыл бұрын
Im planning on doing a best of each brand mesh wifi video, since this is the best wyze offers and pro 6E is the best eero offers they will be compared to each other among many others like the nest wifi pro, asus et12, Tenda mx12, Orbi RBKE963, tp link deco xe200. I believe the et12 is the cheapest with 2 fast ports

Can you hook up the internet connection to the 1gbps port and do a 2.5gbps backhaul? If you only have access to gigabit internet it wouldn't make much sense to hook it up to the 2.5 port Edit: lol, I had paused the video to type this comment literally the moment before you answered this get question.
@landpet
@landpet Жыл бұрын
lol, I was going to say yes you can. Edit: This holds true for the eero Pro 6E and Deco XE75 Pro as well since they also have autosensing ports.

Maybe you mentioned this and I just don't know terminology, so let me just ask this question that, if answered, will help me understand my options: Can I use this as a satellite router to an existing non-Wyze router, or vice-versa (i.e. Wyze Mesh router Pro as base router and non-Wyze router as satellite router)? Thank you!
@landpet
@landpet Жыл бұрын
If the non-wyze router supports bridge mode, then the simple answer is most likely. However, I don't recommend this approach since it's two different models, it takes a bit more work to get them to work seamlessly and if a problem arises, it's not as clear what's the issue.

@@landpet Thanks! If the non-Wyze router supports bridging, and I use Wyze as a satellite and non-Wyze as base, can the Wyze satellite router connect wirelessly to the base router?
@landpet

@@scvagent I believe it needs to be connected via ethernet.

How could i change my network name to know which band im connecting because im having issue when i connect my ps5 where i have terrible latency and its on the 2.4ghz band as default
@landpet
@landpet 9 ай бұрын
I can’t remember the options for this wyze, it’s been some time. If the PS5 is far away, it usually picks the 2.4GHz, if it’s closer it picks the 5GHz as a general rule of thumb.

Hello. I've been watching your videos for a few months and I've learned a few things. Now, I'm inside a big dilemma, and I need some expert help. I bought the Netgear CAX80 and I love it, it provides with Wi-Fi 6 to the whole house but now I need a wired connected second router, or a AP or an extender that provides Wi-Fi 6E to my office outside the house in the second floor in the garage. I got a CAT 8 wlan cable and the wall connector. My questions are: 1. Can I connect a eero 6E to my main gateway? (I assume yes) But here's my other problem. 2. Will the eero 6E provide Wi-Fi 6E connected as AP? I can't find answers anywhere. Please someone help. Thank you.
@landpet

Thanks for watching! If you want to keep the router portion of your mode/router combo which it sounds like you do, you would need to run the eero in bridge mode. 1. Yes you can. 2. Unfortunately, I can only guess at this point since I have not tried doing that. I would think you can use WiFi 6E but again it’s a guess.

@@landpet Hey! So, I bought the eero Pro 6E and it works great, my Alienware loves it!!! This is what I did: 1. Downloaded the eero app and connected the eero to power. 2. The app did not detect the eero so I had to enter the serial number manually. The device started updating. 3. Keeping my Modem/Router Netgear combo on, connected a cat8 cable from gateway to eero. 4. Followed a few instructions on the screen, gave the eero network a different name and that's it. By the way, I did not have to activate the bridge mode or double nat, I gave a different name because I want to avoid other family member connecting to it, It's mine, for work only, LOL. Note: This mesh system does not separate the 2.4GHz; 5 GHz and 6GHz, like TP-Link and Orbi, Asus does. When you turn on the device, give it 5-10 minutes till you connect to the band you want. I'm getting the same speeds as wired. I just hope it can handle two laptops and a smartphone.

Stop saying backhaul. You do not have a have a separate backhaul Network either wired or wireless. That is not how these devices work.
