Hey Vincent, I was wondering something. While you was viewing your front door live view on your phone, you kept scrolling left to right and right to left to see both side angles. Which made me think of this …please test it on your end and let us know if my thoughts is rite, if you hold your phone diagonally as you would hold a camera maybe you would not have to scroll left to right or reverse because you would get the wide angle view. Just a thought.

Yep, I've used that for a wyze doorbell I installed on a rental property that didn't have an existing doorbell of any kind. Works great!

Very good review. I just ordered the doorbell the other day. We have several V3 cams as well as a couple pan cams inside our home to watch the dogs...

Good video VIncent, A prior owner took out the transformer and doorbell button in my house. I installed a battery powered doorbell camera, but the batteries lost their charge while we were away for an extended period - during which time someone or something caused the thermal glass outer panel on the door to shatter. So I want to put in a hardwired unit. I am going to run wire direct from my new transformer to the Wize camera doorbell. I don't know what benefit the resistor packaged with the Wyze serves other than to bridge the connection of the two wires that would be disconnected from the old doorbell chime, or if it is necessary. If it is required, I guess I should just put it in one doorbell line somewhere between the new transformer and the Wyze unit. Question: is this the way it should be installed? Help appreciated.

I believe the resistor is intended to lower the current to the units operating level. So yes, it's necessary.

But, if you're running a new line you can just run a micro-USB like amzn.to/3yE96Xzand and peel the sticker off the back of the doorbell. It can be powered just fine that way from a USB power supply.

@@VincentSmith1776 That sounded good. But I was on Wyse website support and they said doing so voids warranty. They said the USB port was for mag setup purposes only.

@@johnveray9440 it's a risk, yes. But I've had one running on usb power for maybe 6 months now.

So you didn't flip the breaker? I was leaning towards the same thing... door bells are usually low-voltage right?

Yes, typically 24v

Not true look at the back and pull off the label or open up the case and you will find a USB power

You are correct, but what did I say that is not true?
