I see this is an old video, 2015. I got mine XR12 yesterday 2022. You dont discuss the INSERT funtion and the video dont show what I see, two boxes under the INSERT, where you can select input channel to assign it. Is it for Left and Right channel? And why did you not select a channel first? (probably much newer firmware now, 1.18.)

Hey @Behringer At what point are the fx usually added in the sends tab? Would you use pre or post fader, pre or post EQ?

With X AIR you have the flexibility to set the tap points for your FX busses to accommodate whatever you need in your mixing setup. By default they are set to Post fader, but you can also set these up to be Pre-Fader, Pro or Post-EQ.

From the PC application, I can not get the FX to be included properly. If I select "INSERT" and "Main L/R" then I can hear the effect, but not the initial signal (as I would expect) but that is the only way to get signal out of an effects. In the effects window, I see both input and output. In the main L/R window I have the effects slider up and unmuted, and it shows the effected signal, but that is NOT being included in the main out.

I’m having the same problem. I can’t control the effects level on the assigned bus. It’s either all or nothing.

I learned that if you load a preset into the xair then connect another device you can save the current state of the mixer as a new preset on that device. So it's cumbersome and one at a time but it did work.

I am able to get the effects to come through the main output, but not to my DAW recording tracks. The Mic inputs only allow you select Mic/Line or USB. Effects will only get added to your USB recordings if you select USB instead of Mic/Lin for the input. So essentially, you can't hear what you are playing until you playback your recording. if you want to record with effects.

Hi Josh, When recording with your X AIR Mixer, each input channel's "tap point" is set to default to the analog preamp, which is before the FX section in it's signal path. The reason you're not seeing FX on your recording is probably because you probably aren't routing the FX BUS channels to your DAW for recording. You can route your FX signal paths to your DAW using the routing matrix in your X AIR software/apps, labeled FX1 (1L and 1R) - FX4 (4L and 4R). You can also INSERT your FX on the input channels you desire as well and then set the USB SENDS "tap point" for those channels in the routing matrix to pre/post fader to see that FX signal in your DAW. Hope this helps!

Yes you can! Just click on the FX section graphic (faceplate of the effect) in the FX Tab of X AIR EDIT and on the right hand side you'll see where you can save and recall custom FX presets.

This can be done by clicking on the Main BUS fader scribble strip after selecting the corresponding BUS Button on the right hand side of X AIR EDIT control software, and then clicking the EQ Tab. This will give you control over your BUS EQ which will be separate from your Main LR Output.

+Cre8tvMG Have you already got the answer? The simple answer is that you can sync everything from mixer to PC. So your Show is made with tablet > connect your Mac to mixer > sync from mixer to PC :-)
