I had to take some pictures with my phone, but your video was soooo helpful!! definitely recommend photos and angles then taking the whole original pcb out first. amazing! couldn't get all the screws back into the board at the end but w/e works great. wow!

Well done Carlos. Was very easy when I did mine. Got to excited and forgot to turn the tankstick off so windows would recognize the encoder.Turned off the tankstick programming tool detected it and i starred to program it All is good.

I have a nvidia shield hyperspin,ps3,ps4,SF5,MK11,Injustice 1&2,it's on! And i bought a refurbished tank stick 2 week's ago online... I have to install one of these boards,thankfully they're sending a board with the Tank Stick... That's one of the things that contribute to the price drop...i guess.... So , thank you very much...! Can't wait! (takes 6weeks to ship a refurbished tank stick, unfortunately)

It was a good buy for my case, it works well with DIrectinput with my Raspberrypi 4 and Retropie. I have it in a arcade cabinet and when i play something from my main PC i connect it to the Steamlink. Before that it was always issues with games like Killer Instinct (2013).

I updated my PCB board on my 20 year old Two Player X-Arcade using this video back in 2020. Today I picked up a "broken" two player Tank stick for a person for under 50.00!! Turns out that the Tanks stick still has(at least I believe it has) the old PCB board from 20 years back. The board that I bought back in 2020, that I have in my 2 player X-arcade, is ver.1808 and the ver. of the PCB board in the tank stick is 1310. I'm guessing that I need a new PCB board for the Tank stick. I think X-Arcade is selling the boards now for 35.00.There's nothing wrong with the Tank stick, the seller just did not know that they needed to update the PCB board for the stick to work with newer computers.

I just noticed the new board now... and this is 4 years ago? Weird I never saw it before... and I go onto the site every once in a while in case they sell Tron Joysticks as I really want one... :)

I have purchased a Tank Stick back in November of 2021. I have been working tirelessly on trying to get this thing to work correctly with RP4. I have the xpad and xboxdrv installed on Retropie. When I configure my Tankstick on start up, I am able to exit my games properly but my mapped keys are all screwed up. When I uninstall the previously mentioned drivers and install the Xarcade2Jstick driver, I am able to map the buttons and I can play my games with no issue but I am unable to exit my games. In order to exit the games, I have to reboot my RP4. Any suggestions? I am in need of some help.

So i bought a tankstick a few weeks ago and when i plug it to my pc i hear the sound of the usb being plugged in but nothing works, the track ball part works but when i plug the other usb nothing works, no matter where i put the switch the pc does not register any inputs. I see the little redlight flash for a bit but then it dies out. the oly thing different i mine is tha ti had to buy a seria to usb cable since the seller did not sent me the original. Would this pcb fix my issue or is it an entirely different situation?

I noticed that the new Tri-Mode PCB has a jumper and socket labeled "Spinner". I assume X-Arcade is coming out with a Spinner? When will this be supported and available for purchase?

I connected one of the GRS spinners I got from Amazon to the new Tri-Mode board (with a JST-PH 2.0mm 4-Pin Female Connector end to end extension wire). I wanted to switch the axis to the y-axis so I could have two spinners (the GRS spinner defaults to the X-axis). Unfortunately, it did not work. Does anyone know why? I was thinking of trying the Hagstrom ME-4 as as an alternative, but I don't know why X-arcade but this option on there if it does not function.

Mine doesn't look like that and it is "X-Arcade Zerolag Tri-Mode USB Upgrade Kit - PCB + (PCB Cable, USB Cable & Grommit) For any generation X-Arcade" It has 2 yellow holders and one extra white slot. 🤔😥

I just got it to work. Had same exact problem, but would just recognize as a plugged in device. Once I updated the firmware worked like a charm

@@billford171 I couldn't update the firmware because it won't even acknowledge it's plugged in. USB not recognized but the light comes on. Honestly I just hate the x-arcade, I eventually gave it away for free to someone who wanted to mess with it and bought something better and it works with no issues no hasstle. The X-arcade was just a mistake. The person I gave it to never got it working either and they are fairly tech savvy.

I ordered the X-arcade tankstick and it'll be here Friday. I received an email that the Trimode will be shipped mid next month. I received and put together my Raspberry PI, will I need the Trimode to play games?

Hi there, you should be asking the person you purchased the Pi from these questions. You should be able to use the Tankstick just fine without the Trip-mode board.

On the pi you have to download the app for it to work with retropie. Can't remember where it is as from two year ago but it worked fine. I haven't installed my trimodes yet though. Hope this helps

hello, my arcade has the switch dismantled, the PC recognizes when I connect, but it doesn't work, before it worked, can you tell me if it's possible to ignore this switch somehow, leaving it only for PC mode definitively? @@ArcadeOne One downside to my X-ARCADE is in hyperspin, I often have to use my keyboard to get back out of the game I'm in. The new X-Arcade adds an extra button to map to ESC. Didn't know if they are using this board differently or just the extra wires from the trackball like the workarounds suggest. Chuck Pappas with my systems, I configure one of the two buttons beneath the 6 player 1 buttons as ESC, no need to use a keyboard. With the new sticks, the exit button is hard wired to mouse middle click, you cannot map it to ESC. You can setup middle click as an exit key in RocketLauncher but there are some systems like Pinball FX3 that ignore this so it isn’t ideal.

so i installed this board and works like it suppose to. I keep it in mode 4 for the xbox 360 control setup. My only problem is when i restart my computer or boot it back up mode 4 isnt recognized. I keep having to switch it out of mode 4 and then back into mode 4 for it to work. I have tried different ubs ports as well. anyone have this issue and know how to fix? i have this setup in an arcade cabinet so i dont want to have to keep flipping the switch

How do you know if you have the new one or the old one? I ask because I bought a refurbished tankstick (from x arcade), and the board that was in it wasnt any good. So they sent me a new one (it's worked great since). But I dont know if the sent me THIS one or a "new" old one.
