So Candace! And everyone here! Candace is right on as always, but I came back to point something out. Now, this is the only X-Files review I watch. So I'll drop the main message here. Right at the end, when they are sitting in the real diner (with the robot painting on the wall, lol), Sculls makes the vibrator joke, and then she looks briefly at her phone screen. You get less than a second to see what it says. It's a link to the X-Files MYTHOLOGY!! Right at 42:38 if you are streaming on Amazon. It's a message from Senator Harry Reid, who is the politician that funded the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP). I happen to be a UFO buff, so I sat up and took notice. The AATIP was recently all over the news for releasing an actual video of a Ufo, _authorized by the Pentagon_ . This has never happened before in the 70 years since Roswell. Basically on December 16th 2017 *the U.S. Government finally admitted in The New York Times that Ufos are real.* Anyway, Reid writes to Scully: "The NYT knows about the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program. If they find you, DENY EVERYTHING." So the X-files are completely caught up with the news. Just thought I'd point it out in case people missed it, which was easy to do. X-FILES 4EVER!

I would add those moments: 1.- After the explosion when they run holding hands, if I am a shiper totally ... 2.- During the shooting that Mulder's way of hugging her to cover her of the shots ... Loved this episode. Mulder trying to protect her from the bullets was everything. Couple WTF moments though for me were why Scully took a car if Mulder had his, and I can see if they don't live together but how has he never been to her house before? Other than that craziness I loved it and hey maybe now she moves back in with him since her house got burned up... A girl can dream. Love your videos.

If Mulder hasn't been to Scully's house, how did he know how to get there old school style (since his phone's GPS was trying to make him go back to the sushi restaurant in the beginning of the episode)... So I thought his comment was more "why is your house so much nicer than mine" was like rhetorical... something you might say to a friend on a day you feel particularly jealous that their house looks great (or clean) or what not...

Nothing made sense in this ep, everything was forced to fit the subject of AI. And I doubt it was a reality. Even the timeline didn't match the entire season. Rm9 was supposed to be an experiment and we can't take it seriously. I advise you not to worry about this whole house thing :)

Sure, she doesn't really practice medicine anymore since she rejoined the FBI, but for a good number of years before that she was a well respected doctor. I'm sure Scully had a good amount of money saved up. The real question is, did she not invite Mulder over her house before? I mean, apparently she moved out of his place a bit ago and moved into her own house. We've seen Scully just hanging out at Mulders house a lot. Does he never go over hers?

I'm pretty sure the idea that working together with someone where you are required to dress up for work basically everyday means that getting the chance to dress casually with that same person on a date is really important. Also shows how comfortable they are together. I know they've lived together before so they've seen all sides of each other already, but the idea that they're basically starting their dating life over again together means that they would naturally want to impress each other, but they both know what it means to be casual together and I appreciate that. Also, side note, if I went on a date with basically my closest friend and someone I love I'd definitely drive them home after our date. Why would Scully use some weird sort of uber service when Mulder drove there himself? I mean, some dialogue on it would have been cool, like "It's okay Mulder. I don't want to trouble you" or something. And yes, Mulder pretending to stab himself. A+, 100%. Freaking died laughing at my quirky boy.

He was always a man. Even in the 90s. I don't know why you feel the need to be overly masculine and save women to feel like a man. It's insulting to the character Scully, who has always been strong and independent. In the 11 season, she was reduced to a baby machine. At 54 years old ! Chris Carter insulted alm women by implying that she has no agency and tho only way to get a happy ending was by getting pregnant.

Just goes to show you how bored they are without each other. Geez you too just get on with it already. I am glad they let go of the technology and just held hands (which we know led to more...). Scully didn't get all her "devices" back because she knows she wants Mulder and will accept no substitutes. Such a cute way of saying technology won't get in the way. Now she and Mulder can get back to shacking up in the unremarkable house since hers went "bat shit crazy". I have to admit though, not a fan of the short wig. I much preferred the longer one, it just says "Scully" and she looks better with longer hair.

I saw this episode ... a true Rod Serling, Alfred Hitchcock and Joseph Serano (creator of the Outer Limits) sci-fi classic! BRAVA! to the woman screenwriter! Perhaps, one of the best X-Files and the chemistry of Mulder/Scully aka ducovney/ Anderson is so natural they are making love without having sex! My regret is Gillian is calling it quits after this season. I HOPE SHE LOVES IT TOO MUCH AND RENEWS HER CONTRACT

I remember when I was in Japan I stayed at this hotel. That literally had robots doing everything. Cooking the food taking your to your room. They had this mechanical velociraptor greeting you at the check-in desk lol. It was kind of cool really but freaking creepy as hell to. Cell phone bit was dead on and it's annoying as f***. If an alarm company ever started to charge me for false alarm. I seriously would tell them to go to hell and take their system back. The driverless car thing I've never been very comfortable with. Home deliveries I don't much like either. As seems it would be useful for terrorists. Not to mention it's just creepy and the potential for abuse here is pretty high. One aspect that wasn't brought up here which should have is Bitcoin. The day this is implemented and replaces our banking system. Is the day we stop becoming a society. I really never thought I would see half these technologies come into play. This works with me because I remember a world without this crap. Sometimes I think we were better off without, just saying. Good review here though. :)

AGREE with everyone above! Didn't watch seasons 8 - 9 without David / Mulder when they first aired. I've seen them since and while I don't hate them, I do notice they are worse than anything with Mulder + Scully both in them. I mean maybe missing an episode or 2 like in earlier seasons would be fine, but a whole season without Gillian / Scully? I probably wouldn't watch it. Especially since she's my absolute favorite of the two...

Hi All! Wow, looks like my little question touched a nerve, eh? I certainly understand why people would say they wouldn't watch it. For myself, I would give it a chance (I watched the episodes sans Mulder; most weren't great but I did enjoy them).I think if either or both of them left for good, I would at least try to stick with it. But they'd have to do some very careful casting. I watch _Fringe_ from time to time, and while it's really good in many ways, the main thing that _Fringe_ is lacking is the sexual and romantic tension that X-Files achieves. Anna Torv just can't bring the heat that Gillian exudes. To me, the hottest woman on earth was the young Gillian Anderson of seasons two thru eight. It's weird; my parents used to call it "bee pollen," a quality that some women (and probably men too) are just born with. I don't think you can get bee pollen by acting or by conscious effort. You just have it or you don't. FWIW, others may very rightly not see it my way. It's all so subjective!

When I saw the teaser at the beginning, I knew it’d be a social commentary, but I really did not like this episode. It had its moments, but overall, I kept going back to Scully and Mulder (especially, Mulder) are WAAAAAY too paranoid for this type of situation. So, I didn’t find it plausible (even though, I’m all about that AI conspiracy - I’ve seen Terminator, I know how it ends!). I LOVED the ending, though!
