I will forever love this awesome actor and thank them for such an amazing time I have every time I watched them since my teen years and now rewatching them again is like part of those years are back to me, as well as my gratitude to keep me off from boring TV shows back in the 90's this show kept me much interested til today in many subjects! They both were good actors and were great at playing their roles in X Files, regardless of whether they had disputes with each other or not. I was an adult in my thirties, when X Files came on the air. There were public disputes with each other throughout the years, on the original series. Duchovny even successfully moved the series shooting from Vancouver, Canada, to Los Angeles after the first five seasons. He stated that he was a newlywed husband and he wanted to be close to his wife and be there for the family that they were starting. He threatened to leave the series if they didn't move the shooting to Los Angeles. Anderson was involved with the art director of the X Files, whom she married, one year into the series. She gave birth to their daughter in the middle of the X Files shooting, and had to have her pregnancy written into the series. Chris Carter was the godfather.There have been plenty of actors who played lovers in their movie roles or T.V. sitcom roles, who hated each other in real life. I'm not saying that Anderson or Duchovny hated each other, but they had their own personal and professional agendas. Its called acting and having a public persona/ public relations for a reason. I believe that the younger audience of 32 year olds and younger adults/ teens have an unrealistic idea of actors ( they used to refer to female actors as actresses - like poetess- until a few years ago). They automatically believe that those who have chemistry on screen and have a certain P.R. image- at public events, are the real thing. Its called acting. Rock Hudson and other leading men who were heart throbs of the Hollywood era and heart throbs on TV, fooled the public for an entire life time. No one knew that Rock Hudson was gay and had a male lover at his home, until he publicly disclosed in 1984, that he was gay and had AIDS , one year before he died. The public was shocked. The studios always managed his public image, as being involved with certain female celebrities throughout his life. I admit that Liberace couldn't hide his sexual identity if he tried, but there were plenty of actors of both sexes who were successfully managed by their movie companies and agents, and they were displayed as having a certain public image to fool the public, during their careers. It is all about marketing.

I like others here can see they have amazing chemistry. That being said, I just don't think that a relationship between the two was meant to be. David and Gillian look beautiful together and their chemistry is genuinely lovely, but they are also parents. Gillian has a daughter, two sons and the boys' father lives in another country than David. Mark lives in London in the UK and Gillian lives there. The boys need to be able to spend time and be with their father. David's children live with him the US and they have their mother out there who, despite David and Tea being divorced, the children need to spend time with. It is not practical as they are in two different countries with separate lives and you can't just uproot children like that. I don't see any way of them being together at least until their children are grown up and by then it will be too late. To be honest, that is perhaps why they never ended up together. It is better not to embark on something that is impossible or is going to cause problems and heartache. It is a shame, but it's all understandable. I just don't see how they would make it work and make sure all their children had access to their parents. If they were two single, carefree people it would be different, but children have to be your top priority when you have them and it is only right to make choices that benefit them. I hope they find true love and Gillian says she is happy with Peter Morgan. It isn't same as the relationship we saw between her and David, but she hasn't known him for as long and David and Peter are different people. I do wish her happiness and I also hope David will find a wonderful woman to love.
