Rusty Nail was their second best selling single. "Rusty Nail" was used as the theme song for the 1994 TV drama Kimi ga Mienai. From the album Dahlia Lyrics: Yoshiki Music: Yoshiki R.I.P. Hide 🎸🤘

I wish I could have seen them live. They were such a great band. Nice reaction!

Thank you very much for this reaction 🥰 because X-Japan reactions are rare and this is a great pity. You're right that there wasn't much interaction with the audience, but that's because firstly it was the first song of the concert, but mainly because the whole concert was a tragic event. Toshi fell under the influence of the cult and left the band, the others could not accept it, and the crowd knew that it was seeing them for the last time together. This tension was building in everyone and the further the concert goes on, the more it shows. For me, the apogee is during the performance of "Forever love" where everyone is crying, Toshi and Yoshiki hug each other and Hide plays the guitar and tears flow down his face and "Endless rain" - emotions throw Yoshiki and Toshi and the crowd starts singing in the middle of the song and continues several minutes after the musicians left the stage... This is not often seen at concerts. In fact, I've never seen anything like it. But X-Japan is a philosophy, their songs are specific because of the experiences of Yoshiki who wrote them and many people love them and say that they saved their lives. But to understand everything you need to watch the movie "We are X"

If "November Rain" was inspired in "Endless Rain", then "You Could Be Mine" is definitely inspired in this one. A total banger for me and love it. There's a lot of bigger X-Japan fans around even before met BabyMetal, so shout-out to all of them too. Can't wait for you "Art Of Life" reaction.🤘🔥🎹 How can you forgot to mention Yoshiki the drummer and pianist? smh Ok, you mentioned at the end 😛

The bass player's name is Heath. He replaced former X bassist Taiji Sawada in 1992. This is also the year when they would (on August 25) change their name from X to X Japan. Taiji was in X from 1986 to 1992. Like hide (Hideto Matsumoto, the lead guitarist), Taiji also died (on July 17, 2011). In case you take song suggestions from YT comments, please consider reacting to Dahlia (from Dahlia Tour Final 1996 or 2009 with violin intro), Orgasm (English version from The Last Live 1997), Endless Rain (from The Last Live as well), Blue Blood (1991 with orchestra or 2008 Countdown Gig), Sadistic Desire (from X Japan Returns 1993.12.30), Week End (1996 Dahlia Tour or else 1994), Scars (1996 Dahlia Tour). There are lots of other good songs from X Japan but there is enough time for all of them I'm sure :)) In case you are looking for something special (30-minute song), please react to Art of Life from 1993 posted on Yoshiki's channel. In case you are curious about hide's solo career, you might consider the songs Dice (1994/1996 live), Pink Spider (studio live 1998), Eyes Love You (1994 live), Genkai Haretsu (1996 live). A lot of hide's stuff is posted on reo rio's YT channel, usually in HD.

Loved the video, thanks for the upload and great reaction. You don't see many reactions of X Japan, so great to see you have done 3 reactions on them. My first hearing of them was "Art of Life", an amazing single track album, which I highly recommend (29 minutes long).

This is from the last live version and yes it is their opening act. I got lucky and was able to download their full show in HD. It is a lot better experience in terms of video and sound too. I have the last live and 92 tokyo dome show. Both are must-get IMO. KZbin quality kind low and not really that good.

I know Im late, but if you like songs like “X” more, you may want to check out the songs from the time when they are still called “X”. There are two periods of this band, pre-1992 (focuses more on metal / hard rock) and post-1992 (focuses more on ballads tho there are still good rock songs like “Dahlia). The main reason for the absence of rock AND most importantly, the absence of bass sounds in later shows,is the departure of Taiji Sawada in that year, who is widely regarded as the greatest bassist in JRock ever. In their early shows, the bass is not only audible, but sometimes even takes over the guitars as the main character. Just search up songs like “Blue Blood”, “Weekend” and “Sadistic desire” if you want to see how crucial he is to thr band. RIP Taiji

Well, as a Chinese I usually don't like Japan because of the history. However I do LOVE X-Japan, each member is musically gifted and their songs are wonderful. If they were an English-speaking band, they could be as successful as U2 or Queen or something. What a solid rock band with beautiful melodic line.

It was the unnamed bassist who told them there was a band called X, so they changed to X Japan 😁😁. Great reaction, you should watch the full concert and you'll find all you want, crowd interaction, showmanship, etc etc. Gene Simmons is a big fan of X Japan. We are X!!!!!!

This is from their last live before the band broke up, so that's probably why they're less energetic and interactive on stage. They were all pretty miserable. This one is actually my favourite X- Japan song. It's really beautiful, uplifting but wistful at the same time.

You are very correct that this is a show opener. It was also a single release from the final album Dahlia so it was a hit. It’s not in my personal Top 10 X Japan songs but it’s fun. Very good remembering most of the band. Heath is the bassist here, but Taiji was the bassist from 1987-1992. He and Yoshiki fought a lot. Taiji was also a skilled guitarist and wrote my favorite X Japan ballad. ~Queenie

one of their weaker (albeit more popular) songs from their weakest album, still enjoyable of course, but the more impressive tracks from Dahlia (album) are the ballads imo I hope you'll have time to explore their 1st two albums some more, I have a feeling you'd enjoy Weekend (og. Blue Blood album version), Rose of Pain, & Sadistic Desire (og. Vanishing Vision album version) a lot
