can X-keys be used to set/recall PTZ Camera control presets?

That will depend on which software you connect it to. X-Keys itself is just the button panel and needs to be paired with a piece of software running on a computer.

I was told this works with Keyboard Maestro on MacOS. I want to confirm this before I purchase one because my entire workflow is Mac based. Can anyone confirm?

I'm always conflicted with the pricing of these stuff. From the average consumer's perspective it is expensive for something used only for shortcuts. From the manufacturer's perspective its so cheap I wonder how they make money.

In the 'pro' broadcast market their price seems fair, (and they are a solid product) but I can see how at the lower end they look poor value - The Streamdeck controllers don't make XKeys look good value. (Although the build quality is a different level)

Stream Deck models max out at 32 buttons, where the X-Keys products start at 24 and go up to 128. It's hard to compare them.

@@djp_video I agree it's not a fair comparison... Perhaps I should have phrased it differently - more my 'reflection' on the fact that the Streamdeck seems to have sold incredibly well in a shortish space of time, somehow xkeys missed out on that market share, despite being similar products.

Stream Deck targeted gamers, which is a much bigger market than video production. And most people love the fully customizable buttons. X-Keys in comparison appear bland even though the panels can actually do quite a bit more.

plus all it takes is a single key-combo to turn any existing keyboard into a macro-pad... without having to lift your hand off the keyboard and back... $25 at Walmart gets you a mouse with more programmable macros than you need

Never understood why people like Xkeys. The switches are rubber dome, not even tactile. Plus, you can get much better looking Cherry MX macro pads that can do the same thing, but cheaper and better quality.And lastly: who needs this if you can have a Stream Deck XL for $200,- ?

Flexibility. X-Keys can do a lot more than the others. The Stream Deck XL is only 32 buttons. I personally need way more than that.
