I always figured when he said the claws hurt every time, he was referring to them piercing his skin when they come out, not whether they were bone or metal.

I got to meet Sir Ian McKellen around 7/8 years ago when he visited my high school and during recess there was a Q&A which only serious questions could be asked but some kid in attendance asked him if he actually moved the bridge in X-Men 3 and the room fell silent…he proceeded to answer it in style and it was fantastic🙌🏼😂

Wolverine's claws were never inserted, that's not why they hurt. The bone claws hurt too because regardless his claws tear through his flesh and he still feels it even though he heals. His adamantium claws were "given" to him when the adamantium was grafted to his bones, not inserted during or after the process. Also, there is a frog that breaks their bones so that they will stick out as claws. It is a thing.

I think this was my most anticipated movie ever at the time that it came out. I ended up being a little disappointed, probably because I was a super fan that wanted to see more, but I was happy with what it set up and anxious to see where it would go. Because some really great stuff would launch out of it, I think it’s held up better for me than similar movies, where that first movie in the franchise showed so much promise, but the follow-up would be weak or something.

I honestly didn't think the third movie was that bed. It had its flaws, but it also had some really good moments. For example I really like the scene when the mutants are planning their attack in the burnt-out church, and they all have tattoos and piercings. They make fun of Magneto for not having any tats, and he rolls up his sleeve to show his numbers from the Holocaust and said he would never let anyone put a tattoo on him again. A very well done and understated moment.

On another note, I remember the day I went to the theaters to see X-Men on opening night. I was a super-hyped teenager, I had watched that Fox behind-the-scene special with Senator Kelly plus I love and would watch the X-Men cartoon show, so my hype was over 100%. While waiting in line for my showing, I got even more hyped when fans were coming out of their screening dressed in costumes. It was an awesome great time. Watching movies in theaters as a teenager, I think was a lot better than watching movies now as an adult. I had that X-Men DVD, but unfortunately gave it away when I bought the Blu-Ray; I regret it. But, I still have the X-Men 1.5 DVD, which is also how I got my ticket to see X2 in theaters. Another great theater experience.

According to Singer's commentary, THEIR version of Colossus.. is (boy drawing on basketball court). and although not proven, (boy who runs across water) could be Quicksilver. Apparently a small cameo by Moonstar as well. Although these 3 may not be credited as such, I love to think that Singer & Co. still did these kind of inside characters etc. Just on a much smaller scale etc. Singer binged the entire animated series before filming. But apparently they didn't want comics on set. And it was Kevin Feige himself, who helped to sneak them on set for references etc lol a who's who was looked at for this film. And EVERYONE wanted a piece of it... from script writers to actors alike. Story goes, that Shaq and Michael Jackson were just a few of many who wanted in... and that Jackson wanted SO badly to be Professor X LOL and speaking of Phantom Menace.. Singer visited the set of it as well as Titanic. To ultimately get a feel for special effects and how to handle them. To get tips and learn the ropes and all. I adore this film and I always have. And one of many things I love about it, is that it actually feels in line with the animated series. It feels like it's own contained story and world. And it feels like we could end it here and all would be okay and right. I can't say the same for a whole lot of other movies in general. Criminally underrated score by Kamen to boot..

The famous Storm line is actually from a leftover Joss Whedon script and treatment. They chose to Cherry pick two things from Whedon's script, and this was one of 'em. Why they chose to do it that way I'll never know. So not only is it taken completely out of context to begin with... but the way Whedon tells it, is that Halle Berry delivers it completely dead-pan... it was meant to be delivered very sarcastically in the end. So not only did she not do that, but again... it was all out of context from the get go. A Goddess that was supposed to say this line like she was ordering a pizza and tempting her prey... so none of this was done. But in the end and even in context, it's just not a very good line lol

I honestly miss this era of superhero films. Stuff like this actually looked and felt cinematic. There’s more thought into the shot compositions in just the opening sequence of X-Men than most of the MCU. Really baffled by the people saying they’re excited Disney now owns the IP. That company hardly has an artistic impulse left. I like the comics but I’ll take something less accurate to them but more interestingly directed over accurate but soulless.

Times like this I wish studios realized how awesome crossovers would be an why they should happen. I mean imagine right now, Prof X is coming back, but like what if Disney and Paramount had worked out a secret deal and instead of Charles it's freaking Jean Luc. Even with no metal the claws popping out still hurts, as the holes actually seal up each time he retracts them. The first hint we got for bone claws was Weapon X, where they describe them by Barry Windsor Smith The purple blood was probably cause of the stupid early 00's trend of giving every theatre released movie that stupid blue tint that only makes sense in Terminator and T2.

Damn I know i'm getting to this review kinda late but when you mentioned the possible final season of Spider-man, wasn't there a rumor going around for awhile that the Scarlet Spider would piggy back with Peter into his earth, Since Ben's version of New York was destroyed by Spider-Carnage? So while Peter took off in search of Mary Jane, the show would split into two sub plots, With Ben Reilly patroling NYC in Peter's absence, and Peter stuck in the past searching for MJ? (My memory is also slightly fuzzy but I think Black Cat was supposed to team up with Ben at Peter's request to keep an eye on the new blood.)

I know its a little thing but I like the new art on the VHS box in the opening. Suprised it took so long to update it.

I think the only disappointment I ever had when watching all the X-Men movies as a kid was that the X-Men never fought the Sentinels until Days Of Future Past.

Does anyone still think the “I invited a celebrity guest, oh no they died!” bit is funny? Did anyone ever think it was?

I think that's the bit, taking a stupid joke and running it into the ground. Johanna even said she's tired of it. That's a lot of their jokes so 🤷‍♂️
