Magneto for sure is the better orator but I feel that Professor X’s line “Magnus, for all your talk of ruling the world, it is the world that rules you that has made the bitter man before me.” That one hit deep. He’s allowing his path to be ruled by external forces rather than by himself.

Excellent point. That line made me stop and think for a bit. I know I can be rules at times by the things people have done to me and allow that to affect my world view causing me to be enslaved mentally to the things people have done to me. It was a great line.

Love the symbolism of Rogue wearing Gambit’s coat and then leaving it with Charles when she sided with Magneto just reinforcing what Gambit believed about “what bits of us we leave behind, and what we carry into the future”.

The MCU X-Men movie has a lot to live up to because this show is crushing it. This is the X-Men at their best, no other TV/Film has nailed it as much this has.

This is the first time ever we see Cable actually using his power on TV or film! He can't really use it too much because he's constantly focusing most of it to keep the virus from spreading past his arm. I wonder if it'll spread now...

In regard to Scott and Jean's moment before the go off to battle. I love it, that's what a true relationship/love is. Yes, they've been through a lot of sh!t, and yes, they've both made mistakes, but when it comes down to it, they are unwavering to each other.

Michael is the first person I heard mentioning Jean helping Morph when he was Hulk. I did not notice until now. I was team Magneto for a little bit then team Xavier. I kept switching back and forth. That line Michael said "Storm said it was 12 hours and I believe her” I died 😂😂😂😂

Great episode. I'm not sure how I feel about all this though. So, the show runner said that he wanted to take the focus off Wolverine, which explains why we don't really have him doing anything all season. By doing this, this could be their way of getting rid of Wolverine and not having to worry about him being the focus anymore. Now I'm still hoping things play out in a great way for the characters. S1 E10: Wolverine is basically out of commission. The last few seconds of the season, Logan wakes up but noticeably weak. Maybe he comes into the room says something like, "Anyone got any beer?" and season ends. S2 E1: Wolverine is training in the danger room, but having a hard time of it. He gets pissed off and at the end he gives that awesome line saying he is still the best there is and roars and pops the bone claws for the first time, blood spurting out from his claws. Episode ends. S2 E 2: Slower paced episode basically focus on Wolverine giving his good byes. Episode ends with him writing letters and at the end he sneaks off at night. A crying Jubilee, now wearing Wolverine's hate reading the letter. Episode ends. Fast forward to S2 finale. The team deals with whatever it is they are dealing with. We get a tease in the last 10 seconds of Apocalypse and his 4 horsemen, among them Gambit and Wolverine! Then Season 3 could deal with that. OR... we get a Wolverine solo show!! That would be awesome, but I doubt we'll get it.

When Rogue said "none of you were at Genosha"...that was mostly true. Nightcrawler was there and he almost didn't make it multiple times. Her point is still incredibly valid but the fact that Kurt was there matters... especially given who he is and his faith.

Having the literary swap from Colossus in Uncanny X-Men: #300 to Rogue in 97 was a great subtle touch. It also brings levity as her character is tortured daily by the "death" of Remy. (Gambit)

Like Infinity War, the heroes fail because they can't let the people they love die. Cyclops stopped Prof X from controlling Magneto because he couldn't let Jean die. Storm the goddess let her guard down trying to save Forge. Jean could probably overpower Cable but wouldn't hurt her 'son'.

After all this it makes me wonder if Rogue regrets joining Magnus. While she agreed with him, she never wants to hurt the X-Men since they're her family. So I wonder the fact that she's a witness to Magnus pulling out Logan's adamantium that she realizes that one: she might become a monster like that and two: If Magneto did that to Wolverine who is a mutant, what will he do to others?

Could Rogue and Storm's mention of Jean and the Phoenix be foreshadowing of Jean using the Phoenix force since she's under attack? Wasn't it part of the Phoenix force that actually resurrected Madelyne?

Considering how many times they mention Jean's Phoenix connection, it's not like they need much foreshadowing anymore to bring in what every fan assumes will eventually get an appearance.

Re: Madelyne, yes. In the comics she was a failed clone because Jean's genetics are difficult, so Mr. Sinister shelved her only for the Phoenix to give her a spark of life when she also started the awakening process for Jean's true body (cocooned under the sea). In the show it's more so a straightforward cloning, but they could play into it by having the Phoenix somehow preserve Madelyne (and/or Jean) after their apparent deaths in Genosha (and here against Cable when she seemingly gets vaporized).

Am I the only one that thinks Xavier is a narcisistic entitled a** that plays the nice guy but is always taking decisions for everyone and imposing his own view, and does what he wants, he pretends he cares but he always thinks he is right when actually lacks empathy which is horrible for a someone who actually knows what everyones else is thinking and feeling, he likes to play the dad figure of kids he likes but he neglects his own son If he actually had shown empathy to Magneto and Rogue for what they went through in Genosha things might have played differently, he clearly cares more about his ideals than reality, if it wasnt for Magneto shutting down every sentienel in the world every mutanat might have died
