+Meow Blue They switched from using glued prosthetics to using a body suit. Reduced the make up time from 8 to 3 hours and lessened the skin irritation a bit. But apparently they sacrificed the quality in the process...What bugs me the most is the blue colour, it's not a flattering shade. It's too bright, it should have been mixed with a little bit of grey to make it less harsh. Like in the previous movies. Why they even changed the scale pattern is still a mystery to me.

+Lilya Scarlet completly agree. Also the hair colour is way too bright and clashes with the skin. I've heard that the original actor of mystique had horrible reactions to the paint, and it even staining her organs, but I thought that makeup techniques have stepped up their game over this time and it could be done faster and wouldn't irritate the skin as much.

+Meow Blue They probably had to use another brand for body paint due to your mentioned problems and had a hard time getting the colour right this time. I can see that the body suit in this movie was smoothed out in post-production (erased the seams and some wrinkles), so why not correct the colour a bit? Mystique in the X-Men: Apocalypse Superbowl Teaser looks really odd, kinda sad that they didn't fix the shade....
